    Because Lament of Innocence pretty much covered the backstory of the Belmonts, Dracula, and the Vampire Killer, I always thought of this as a straight up reboot or side story that was simply doing it's own thing but contained a few easter eggs. It still worked for me as a kind of 3D version of Super Castlevania IV, and it helped the most noticable use of the old school music is the waterfalls theme from that. Outside those little details, I never thought it needed to get tied in to the existing material, unless they find a way to do that with this sequel (but it would be a stretch)

      Speaking of Lament, do you think we'll see Rinaldo Gandolfi in MOF/LOS2? A fallen brotherhood knight mentioned seeing him in Veros Woods, disguised as an old beggar. David Cox was hinting of this during the LOS DLC. It would make sense that he's in MOF, since he created the combat cross>Gabriel destroys it and leaves it in the demon realm>Trevor Belmont has a Combat Cross.

          Spoiler:
          I'm really digging this game and Trevor's Voice acting.

          ...for some reason I heard in my head the Simon's theme playing after he crushes the skeleton with his bare-hands followed by more - imaginary - gameplay montage.

                  graphics, animation, and frame rate, ain't gripping me. I think it just needs some more work in these areas, I know the 3DS is better than what this is showing.

                    The graphics are mostly cell shaded and have a more cartoony old school CV look to them, so that aspect doesn't bother me as much because it's what they intended for this entry but they do need to smooth out those jagged edges. The frame rate, is something they MUST fix. People playing the demo have said that at some points, especially when there are several enemies on screen, the frame rate is so bad that they described it as a "slide show."

                    You can really see the issue in this video, where Trevor battles a bunch of bats.

                      Wasnt sure if the cel shaded graphics were just for the cutscenes or not. I think they should ditch the cel shaded graphic and use normal ones.

                      The cel shading process looks good on the bats, but not on Trevor or human characters.

                        Yea I agree. I think they were going with, "Well we're not going to be able to make it as pretty and detailed as LOS so we'll just change the style." It can work as long as the models are smooth, but I already miss the realistic blood and grit. Cox has stated it will most likely be rated T (Aww, no more demon boobs), so I guess the cell shading helps them in that regard, but as long as they convey the dark atmosphere that matches LOS and fix the frame rates I'm golden.

                        Here's a nice close up of Trevor.

                          Hmm...I have a feeling from what 'Alucard' utters in his reveal trailer that he might be Trevor taking on the name & role of 'Alucard'...maybe a few years later, after Simon grows up and Trevor disappears (?).

                          This feels almost like a retelling of Castlevania 3, and apparently there will be another character yet to be revealed (a Belnades?).

                          "It seems fate has given me a second chance...father" - Alucard (his attire looks pretty close to Trevor's).

                          If he isn't Trevor post-disappearance, Alucard might just be the son of a prior generation of Dracula....or another one of Gabriel's Long lost son's from another mother (one of them had to have been a vampire when he came to be, while the other a human to keep on with his original mythos of a Half-breed), meaning that Trevor & Alucard are half-brothers!!! DUM DUM DUMMM!

                          Only time will tell. xD

                            ^ Yea that's we've been speculating since the first trailer and after the latest clip it's all too obvious. Same voice actor, same clothes and just like a certain Belmont I know, he happens to be Gabriel's son. He was also defeated by Gabula, hence never returning to his family. We all know how the whole "Is Gabriel Dracula?" Fiasco went before LOS released.

                            People on twitter: Is Gabriel going to turn in to Dracula?
                            David Cox: No, Gabriel is not Dracula.

                            Terrible lies, but just like Capcom with RE trailers, they tend to spoil some of the biggest twists before the game even releases. The only reason I can see them revealing Alucard so soon is for the fan love around his character.

                            Gabriel = Dracula
                            Trevor = Alucard

                            Since there are four playable characters, (three belmonts: Trevor/Simon) and one additional character (Alucard), who will the third Belmont be? Richter? Julius? How will they be alive in the timeline unless Trevor or Marie had another child we don't know of.

                              Kind of makes the Belmont clan feel like a bunch of loonies fighting an internal battle, I preferred the series being a battle between good and evil.

                                I think it adds a layer of drama to the story, sort of like Luke finding out his father was Darth Vader. In this version of the storyline, the Belmonts are forever locked in combat with their ancestor who is angry at humanity and wants to crush it.

                                Until one descendant just drops the kid gloves, says "SCREW THIS" and tosses his ass in a lunar eclipse.

                                Still waiting on that, Igarashi.
