  • I enjoyed Ubi's event more than Sony's based on the fact they had more games overall, that while yes - some appeared in Sony's event, managed to make me interested. Outside of the Ubi content in Sony's event only two games (the most obvious ones) were interesting. Additionally the first of those as well could go either way, I'm a huge fan of Quantic's but even I admit Indigo Prophecy wasn't the most smooth of titles and Heavy Rain wasn't for everyone. Beyond could end up being a big ol turd for all I know and we only saw early stuff.

For me disappointments have been mostly minimal too though I have to admit. Most things have been as expected. Dead Space 3 might be the biggest disappointment for me, just because I'd hoped they'd keep on trucking with it's dark isolated style and instead got brighter location with co-op and enemies who are shooting at you (oh and cover mechanics). I can't even say God of War is a disappointment, it's just exactly what I'd expect.

    • I miss the old E3's with the last minute shockers. Like when FFXIII was announced for the 360 and everyone was all like "WHAT?, Holy shit!"

      • Such an apt visual for the state of videogaming today :p

So basically everything announced today and given a release date except for RE6, BLOPS2, and ACIII (and the Vita title) are due Feb or March next year. Along side other titles already announced in that early year frame like Aliens Colonial Marines (Feb), DmC (Jan), XCom and Metro (both March).

Sales numbers for lots of things gonna be fucked.

        • If in the UK it is great with releases like that, many games will tank in price in only weeks.

You say "Ubisoft has little to none without Watch Dogs"... listen, that was enough for Ubi to win it. Try as you may to minimize/ignore it, that game won the whole show. Its being talked about all over the net like crazy. Megaton material right there. People thought they were seeing a next gen console game. It's the perfect game to use with the Wii U & 360's tablet (no Wii U version, though).

And Rayman Legends looked beautiful in every way. The entire show was entertaining. Unlike Sony's which had more downs than ups. That damn book of spells thing was godawful.

Anyway... that Star Wars game... 1313... impressive, most impressive.

            • Watch Dogs seems amazing. Any idea at all what platforms it's actually being developed for?

But what you saw was strictly from a PC

Wish that happened here. Normally not the case.

                  • Sony's Conference...Yeah! Pretty Lack Luster...except for 'The Last of Us'. Winner of today's conference 'Ubisoft' Hands down!

                    - Wonderbook...hmm...What can I say about it?

I am going to pretend Wonderbook is one of Voldemort's horcruxes and destroy it!

                    - Last of Us has no regenerative health bar!?....MINDFUCKINGBLOWN!!!!....Ladies & Gentlemen, behold! The Future!

Like I told Valentineisdead? on Skype, Kojima just attended Sony's conference to give everyone blue balls for an 'if' announcement that never happened. Troll Kojima is a Troll. xD

Overall, Ubisoft won E3 Day 1 hands down! I was losing focus through most of everything else...'Wonderbook' made me lose brain cells and left me almost on life support... (feeling like Jacob in my avatar now *BEEEP*)

As I thought, Nintendo is our fallback plan to consider this E3 a success (along with E3 trailers from other Companies not doing conferences)...they have new hardware and games that are not FPSes to showcase.

I totally agree, the lesbian joke wasn't insulting at all and I couldn't get enough of it every time 'Girl wood' was brought up over and over, not cringe inducing at all. That ugly thing backstage that kept interupting was great, the Just Dance intro was a great highlight as was the totally generic and featureless game with the girls and boys teams. All within an hour.

The only thing Sony had anywhere near as entertaining as all that was the Wonderbook and that show lasted a whole 90s minutes.

                      • Holly shit! Last Of Us looked fucking out of this world! I knew Naughty Dog would bring it but holly crap I had no idea it would be that good! Going into E3 I totally forgot about this game while mentioning on this forum what games I was most looking forward to and boy do I feel like a sap now. I was blown away by a few games but nothing compared to Last Of Us. The graphics, the a.i., the fighting! Omg all other games just got made to look inferior. Even Beyond was made to look like crap compared to this. Best game of E3 hands down for me.

These are the other games that I liked but hot damn good luck with them competing if they are anywhere near Last of Us realase date. As much as I love RE and have to know the story as soon as they are released if I had £40 to my name and these 2 were on a shelf then RE you dont stand a chance sorry.

                          Poor game...

'Last of Us' has me excited for PS3 exclusives.

                          • Splinter Cell is completely ruined. First of all, Fisher is in his fifties so why is he being voiced by someone in his thirties? Which leads me to my next point - No Michael Ironside, no buy. Why is Fisher now in charge of Third Echelon when that entire organisation was destroyed? Makes zero sense. Finally, more stupid dubstep. Which is a shame because what I saw of the gameplay was genuinely impressive, looked like a lot of fun.

Totally in his fifties, right? This is ridiculous. They took away the spirit of Fisher, now he's just some ordinary action hero with a generic voice. They couldn't even get an actor to fit the age range.
                            See you in hell.

                            • It's funny, before I saw it I'd read somewhere about it being a younger Sam but I figured like was rumored as well, it would be a split between the old and new with some sort of linked story taking place. But the technology in the new game is modern and so I figure for some odd reason they've gone for a reboot. Weird.

                              • The actor in me encourages the whole acting process of physical, facial and vocal mocap. But Ironside is iconic in the role and has been the sole voice from the get go. It'll be extremely tough to follow that up when his voice helped define the character. It would be like replacing David Hayter as Solid Snake. Sounds preposterous, but not impossible. The truth is no one is attached to a role and you're every bit as lucky to see an actor play that role for as long as they do.
