Somehow when MK turned to 3-D, it doesn't look violent enough like earlier releases.

I like Soul Calibur, it's pretty fun. The Edge Master stuff gives it some depth, which a lot of fighting games lack. Okay so it's not that different, you just fight with different rules, but it's a change.

Mortal Kombat... I like the originals. SEGA Mega-Drive MK2 for the win. FINISH HIM! Ohhh yes. Three buttons

Dead or Alive uses real fighting styles, so it's quite realistic in that. And you can't like... Jump eight feet in the air, frontflip and on the way down slam into your opponent, flip, and throw them.

Virtua Fighter... I've played VF2 on my PSP. It's tough to get used to, but it's good.

What about street fighter? Another Capcom franchise which has been milked since good ol' 1987 (when the first Street Fighter came out).

Street Fighter, that brings back memories. SF2 on the Mega Drive, pure ownage. Balrog + cheap headbutt move = automatic win.

Any really. You could always get the Street Fighter Collections for the PS2 which comes with a few SF games in there

SF Collection has only two games. Hyper SFII which meshes all SFII versions into one game, and SFIII: Third Strike (some would argue it's the best in the series).

SF Alpha Anthology has all the Alpha games, including revisions that were on the home versions. If you get those two discs, you're pretty much have the best the series has to offer.

Alpha 3 is a personal favorite of mine.

Anniversary Collection is on both PS2 and Xbox, but the Alpha Anthology is PS2 only.

Anniversary Collection was superior on Xbox because of XBL gameplay if I recall, never came out in PAL territories sadly, Alpha anthology is decent, but to be honest I only play Alpha 2 on it, never was fond of Alpha 3 unless it was the arcade version, the console PAL version had alot of frame cutting on it.

BACK to Tekken, anyone seen the Tekken 6 Beta footage?
Im a huge fan of the series, although I primarily use Jin *Tekken 5 and Dark Ressurection*, Devil Jin *Tekken 5, stopped using him in DR when I heard he was top tier, too many people whine at arcades when I used him*, Law and Hwoarang.

Although im gonna start using Zafina as she looks really impressive.

Looking forward to 6 it looks very impressive, but im concerned about:
                        A) Rage Mode, a decent invention in theory boosting your Attack when you're gauge is critical, however this is gonna be heavily abused, especially by the stronger characters like King, Bryan and Jack-6
                        B) Jin: Im a major Jin user, and have beaten top opposition using him, however I hear he's been toned down YET again after being mid/low tier in Tekken 5 , increased lag in his moves along with weaker strength, which is a concern as he's a) the main villain in the game and b) he was nerfed enough in 5 and DR.
                        C) Projectile/Weapon moves, since when did Tekken jump the shark into Mortal Kombat territory? Last I need is Bryan Users breaking out a shotgun for double/ranged damage from what the trailer showed, its a useless addition *I know you have to stack up major points on your Tekken ID card to buy them but still*

As for SE/SC, i've been a huge fan since the beginning, although SCII and SCIII were heavily unbalanced on the console versions, and SCIII Came out so late in arcades I didn't even bother venturing out to give it a go *Only arcades for me are deep in the city center*
SCIV looks interesting, but yet again the addition of a way to end the match without depletion of the oppositions energy bar bothers me as the only way I can see it happening is through Disarming or Instant Kill moves *Like what Siegfried did in the Trailer*

I'm not concerned one bit after hearing the impressions of some top Japanese and Korean players. There are some features that they were told to keep a lid on for now, but the general consensus is that it really blows T5 DR out of the water so that says quite a bit.

Online play, 2D or otherwise, with fighters is sketchy at best but the Xbox edition had 480p support.

The Dude, the US and JPN Alpha Anthology does in fact have the original arcade version by default. Beat it once in the arcade mode, then when you exit, simply hold select while choosing Alpha 3 for the (+) version that has all the Saturn version extras.

Of course, the US/JPN versions did have a HDD install mode so that made things smoother. Full install, so I take out the disc after booting the game.

Im more looking foward to using Law, his new move sets and mixers look great.
Im not liking how I heard once again Steve is top tier, he's a broken character and seriously could do with toning down, although from what I gather he's been used alot so maybe Namco will take notice and tone him down.

Don't ever expect any real conclusion to the Tekken story/mishima saga anyway, I think they ran out of cliffs to throw each other off.
