Psst, guys, Im going to let you on a little secret.
6 years ago when I mentioned multiplayer gaming and how awesome it was to hit Counter Strike with friends over LAN or the internet, I got only negative responses by the Resident Evil community.
Not from me! I'm overly old school for a reason. I still don't like playing games online, although in fairness, that's mostly because I tend to run into idiots. Back when I played StarCraft, WarCraft, Diablo and such online with friends I enjoyed it a fair bit. I still remember with much amusement some PKers in Legend of Mir realising Enrico was some ungodly level and running like terrified little girls...
Of course, I never ranted against playing games online...I simply never saw them getting as big as they have.
So, ah, I guess the whole Peace Walker-related announcement at the Spike VGA's turned out to be nothing but air vapor? Damn. I really would have liked a PS3 port announcement. Oh well, one can still hope.

It will probably be ported to Xbox 360 like Rising.

I doubt it. Rising was announced first on the 360 then a few days later was announced for PS3. While Peace Walker was announced for PSP and that was it.
Soon I will be playing Peace Walker (Metal Gear Solid 5 in some regard) soon and looking forward to it. I'm surprised I've not really paid much attention to this game, I'm hope to not be dissapointed (I did enjoy portable ops for all purposes).
GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.
An HD reworking of the original Metal Gear Solid trilogy is on the way to PS3, according to 'insider whispers' heard by the ears of the UK's Official PlayStation Magazine. In the mag's new issue, in stores now, it reports that Snake is "in the facelift queue", and that the "first three" MGS games are set to be reborn in High Definition.
I still have the original copies of all 3, but this would still be an insta-buy for me.
So instead of pretending to put a new game out that's actually the same old crap recycled over they're just putting out the same old crap. Why exactly is this necessary? Oh yeah, cause most of the PS3's out there can't play PS2 games, nice money-making scheme you have going there Sony. Wonder if they'll release the VR Mission series as DLC to milk gullible fans even more. I also wonder if Nintendo will be nice enough to let them use some of the Twin Snakes elements.
...or, you can take the flip side, and look at it as an opportunity for the people who missed out on the original games to play the full versions(Substance, Subsistence, etc.) in full 720p on one blu-ray disc with trophy support. These HD Collections that Sony has been making have been priced(usually) at $40, and I think of that as a steal these days.
I like these HD collections personally, playing on PS2 feels like a chore nowdays. Aside from many games looking like ass on my HD TV having the deal with memory cards and move seating forward so the controller cable reaches and such makes it not worth it.
I've happily pay for a collection of my fav games that removes all that crap. I have the God of War Collection and will be buying the Tomb Raider Trilogy too, though I already have Underworld the other two Legend/Anniversary make it worth buying for me.
I'd pay £20 for MGS3 alone.
