Bumping an older thread, but I finally was able to take some decent screenshots of the beginning of the demo. I have to admit, playing this game late at night, alone, headphones on, no lights on, with the game up to my face, it was actually bugging me out.

I agree. To be honest I've never felt this scared of a Silent Hill game. Just having the headphones in and isolating yourself from everyone and from the light adds to the atmosphere so much.

Yeah I know. Considering I was...11 when the first game came out, and I played and beat that pretty easily

The lighting gets me every single time.

Also, after rumours that the release would be delayed again due to the leak, William Ortel confirmed that the game has gone gold (for the US at least) so expect more info on release coming soon.

It's supposed to be November 7th across the board. Was confirmed during the GC event last month that the game is intended to be released "everywhere" on that date. European release is more likely to be the 9th because it's a Friday (when most games release).

What can they possibly do, should they delay due to the leak? Redesign the WHOLE gamE? =/

Considering the responce has been mostly positive, especially considering how the earlier build of the game was looking, I don't see what they would accomplish by holding back it's release now.

Both the US and UK Konami websites state November still on their release lists and on the page about Origins at each site as well I forgot to add before.

From the rumours last month, they were considering holding it back to put in additional content. I believe it was because they were fearful that someone would hack the demo so the entire game would be out there two months before release.

Also, looking through some bits and pieces from Silent Hill I saw some pictures of the unreleased Silent Hill Graphic Novel, which showed a lot of people around the burning house and the firemen bring a burnt Alessa out of the house. It made me laugh.

I really need to get a slim psp before this hits. I want a white one bad, the silver one looks awful and the black one just attracts too many fingerprints.

If I get a custom firmware on it can I play games from any region? Would there be language issues?

Well, the PSP can play any region game as it is. If you mean ISO/CSO, it can do that too. PSP games aren't region based, on the UMD movies, and I believe there are ways to get around that too with Custom Firmwares.

Yea, only UMD movies have region protection, but thats easy to get around with any CFW. Only language issues would be if the games Japanese and only japanese heh. Certain games, like Final Fantasy (1), switch languages based on what is set in the XMB

Japanese release date according to the Konami Pre-TGS conference is the 6th of December.

This would be coming out in Japan last though, since it's western-developed?

No, I think Japan might be last this time. Review builds have been sent out so the November release seem's right for Euro/US.
