Oh but I guess that depends on how many non-silent hill fans will now be swayed into this retelling and how many long time fans will drop money just to have a look. But really I wouldn't go betting the farm on this just because a couple "open minded" people want a new Haunting Ground without boobs.

Hell if it's all about reinventing the wheel why not just make a Silent Hill Racer like mario kart? And while we're reinventing things let's give Leon S. Kennedy a haircut in that Darkside Chronicals.
Now everything you said was just plain silly.

I think the story checklists some magazines/sites/comments seems to making are a bit... what should I say... potentially unreliable and stupid.

If they are gonna have a lot of variable factors in the story based on your profile... I wouldn't be surprised if "Harry having been to Silent Hill before -> *amnesia* -> Shits! I live here!?" is just one of the potential outcomes of the entire thing.

Everyone's favorite Pyramid Head is in Track & Field on the NDS.

I saw someone around these parts, somewhere, post a personal theory comment about this (Shattered Memories) being a book by Harry, but if you were rolling with that... I'd say it's more likely that you could see it the other way (SH1 + evt. SH3 being the "book" written by this Harry)

Anyway, the more I think about this game, the more I want it. Screw Canon, I want a good game with a good narrative and replay value. And bring me some of those multiple endings... plenty of them, kthx. (Seriously, Silent Hill 3's biggest letdown is the horrible linearity of the endings. It all pretty much just falls down on one dialog choice in the game. Silent Hill 4 also just has a bit too linear and obvious factors for the endings "Apartment full of shit? Yes/No" and "Did you protect the girl? Yes/No")

Anyway, whoever cares about canon in Silent Hill knows that the UFO endings are the only ones that clearly connects properly to each other in a totally sensible way with full closure anyway!

Hilarious. Geez, I don't know about Harry. I hope he at least acts like a badass when the going gets tough

I think it would be nice to tackle this like Silent Hill 2. In other words, James knew what he had done, but he suppressed the memories. What if Harry was doing something similar, seeming oblivious to the fact that he lives in Silent Hill for a reason.
