The game seems really interesting...I'll be getting it for the Wii.

Too bad, it's short according to the review.

take it with a grain of salt. some review said RE5 was short, but when i played it, it took as long as RE4, like 15 hours.

^ Also, most survival horror games are shorter than other games. So, yeah, don't worry about it.

It's interesting that IGN gave it an 8.6 and GamePro only gave it a 2.5.

Sounds like it's going to be a Marmite kind of game (although you could argue that the past few SH games have been like that anyway).

^ Yeah, for once I have to agree with IGN. GamePro's always been biased against the Wii, and now G4 (who gave the Wii version a 2 out of 5) is too. I'm willing to bet the PS2 version scores higher.

I forget what game, but GamePro was interviewing someone... I think it was either No More Heroes or Madworld, a Wii exclusive anyway... and they were like "So why would you release it on the Wii? Wouldn't it be better on the Xbox 360 or PS3? Why would you choose the Wii?" or something like that. Pissed me off.

"Why release on a game on the Wii when you could release it on 360 or PS3, where you have achievements or trophies and stuff..."

Nobody gives a crap about achievements/trophies, and if you do then you need to get a life, seriously. What they should have said is:

"Why release on a game on the Wii when you could release it on 360 or PS3, have superior graphics and really bring the game in the next generation market..."

^ Because the Wii is part of the next generation market so it's already there? "Next generation" isn't just graphics.

                  *prepares for console war debate*

Yeah true, but the graphics are a big part of it and something the Wii just doesn't have over the PS3 and 360. If something looks like last generation, then it probably isn't going to have as big an effect on people as it would if it looked like the current generation consoles. It's kinda like watching an old horror movie now and comparing it to a current one, you can spot all the flaws of the old one and see how its lost its fear effect.

In some ways this sound good but in other ways... not.
I can't remember where I read it but one review I saw said that you are ALWAYS getting chased. So there's no time to explore or enjoy the scenery. If you try to explore at all, you will die. It said it's very linear.
That's a turn off for me, because I like to take my time and have a good look around when playing most games. Getting chased around and herded along a path might be fun for a while but I'm not sure I'd want to play a whole game like that.

I got the game yesterday and from what I played so far the game is pretty good. However the running away and constant waggling can be a bit frustrating.

Not true. Half the game is exploration.

I just played through it and i liked it, loved the fact it wasn't really a remake, they really did just pick the basic starting point from the original and ran from there and told their own story. I don't think the psychological aspect of the game worked though, i doubted it was going to anyway, ambitious idea but doomed to fall flat from the start.
