i haven't been into Korn in several years.. but i have no beef with them.. it's moreso just the fact that prior to this, all of Silent Hill's music was originally scored.. but lyrically speaking, the song does seem somewhat appropriate..

the bit about those boxes (previously empty) now containing tortured souls, leads me to believe that much of what seemed to be bland in previously seen footage, in the environment, has likely been spiced up a great deal.. i doubt we've seen anything of the darkest depths of this journey..

i was pleased to hear that there is an option to disable the command display.. and as the reviewer suggested, i hope that in the final game, there is also an option to disable the lock on indicator.. sounds a little trivial, but in this game, something as subtle as that really can diminish from an otherwise unnerving atmosphere..

I didn't bother to finish the demo, combat just seemed very awkward and not in the older games sense where you're just limited, I don't know how to describe it, perhaps like you/your weapon and the enemies cannot collide well. Homecoming was far better. Also having to find weapons just to have them break is annoying.

Moving just felt off also, you move at a really unnatural pace that doesn't seem realistic and kinda of an arcade game feel.

The camera switches to a fixed camera randomly, usually in large rooms, otherwise it mainly follows about behind you, the fixed placement on your character that it is based on feels off, a little too high.

I wasn't enjoying it much and at an expo atmosphere is gone to hell so I left it. I know enough that I'll rent this only.

Ah but Rely on Horror made it seem like the demo was shaping up nicely. How can you possibly argue otherwise from such a well rounded and unbiased site?

Smiley linked this in the other topic, but I thought I'd quote it:

Devin Shatsky – We just unveiled the song at Tokyo Game Show this month, and the reception has been very positive overall. I think a lot of the initial “freaking out” from some of the more “vocal” fans has mellowed out, once they heard the song. It’s a great fit for Downpour, and I personally like the song a lot. Those who don’t? Feel free to press ‘START’ at the attract mode screen.

Clearly has no clue. The "vocal" fans I've seen still aren't any less vocal. I'll be pushing start for sure. Or at least my mute button.

This trailer looks like a bad amv...but I see no reason to bitch. Doesn't mean the game is RUINED FOREVERZ.

            Solution:

Take early trailer. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLruIB8fZpY ) Mute it.
Skip to seven seconds in and pause.
Play this and unpause the trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JGHI4TAC5U
            Instant epic. =)

Intro movie for the first Splinter Cell. If ou're interested, the song they used is called "Name of the Game" by The Crystal Method. I didn't add the music -...

Well, the Splinter Cell intro featured music by The Crystal Method.
              See you in hell.

See, this is why I was so glad I played Splinter Cell on the Ps2 back in the day. We got a SERIOUS opening.

Until Konami says anything we'll find out this month if that date holds true or not.

Weird, I know Wikipedia isn't the best source for info, but it keeps saying the release date is March 31th now.

it seemed odd to me that although i'd heard the rumors, i was unable to find anything coming from the horses mouth.. neither Vatra, nor Konami, as far as i can tell, have said anything about the titles release date being pushed back.. the last we've heard from the developers was, and i quote, "i guess we're going ahead and saying, this fall"..

so i checked out Wikipedia, followed the information regarding a Q1 2012 release, and found that apparently it's entirely based on this blog, posted at 1UP.com..

in it, the writer says that he had gone to pre-order from Amazon, when he discovered that the release date was listed as being March 31st 2012..

that seems to be the source of it.. i think it's fairly reasonable to chalk it up to ignorance on Amazon's part, seeing as we haven't heard anything official.. it just seems unlikely to me that an announcement wouldn't be made..

another strange thing however, is that Gamestop doesn't include any release date at all, in it's listing..

We've got the 4th of November 2011 as our release date in the UK. It was meant to be out in September. If it doesn't make the November date, then I'd expect to see it out in Febuary.

I read somewhere that the release date had been pushed back to March for this now, wouldn't surprise me if it was true
