  • I just saw the Clash of the Titans remake.

It was... okay. I mean, it was cool and all, but really 'meh' factor (probably because I watched it in 2-D, though). The acting was rather cheesy and some parts just seemed way too rushed. However, some sequences were really, really great (the desert/scorpion scene, the Medusa scene, and parts of the end scene). Hell, the input of Athena's mechanical owl (from the original) made me laugh out loud (and people stared, lol). However, the character chemistry could have been improved upon (except Perseus and that one guy; it may not seem like much, but it's just so damn slash-worthy it makes me implode) and some parts of the end scene, but that's just me.

PS: It seems Sam Worthington has been put to wear the shortest of nearly all the clothing. Oh. Fuck. Yes.

    • I just saw The Mist for the first time, and VERY impressed. It has the darkest ending I've ever seen in a film, and it really shows what people will do when put in extreme situations with extreme fear.

(Don't read ahead if you've not watched it or don't want to know plot details)

              • Clash of the Titans. Fairly decent. I enjoyed it non 3D since I'm cheap and really don't care about 3D. Also: Liam Neeson as Zeus. It just fits. Morgan Freeman = God. Liam = king of Gods. The world is fine.

                • This beautiful low budget movie called Frozen River, about a poor single mother living just south of the Canadian border in NY who gets involved w/ human trafficking to make money. A lot of focus is put on the Mohawk reservation around the area; one of the main characters is a Mohawk woman in a similar situation to the protagonist.

Overall it had a noticeably peaceful tone despite the characters being in miserable situations. The music blends in well with the wide open shots, a lot of good stuff at night too. The best part though is the main character, played by Melissa Leo. The script does a great job rounding her out, in a case of a character's actions saying a whole lot. Give it a rental, definitely something to check out.

                    • Recently watched films:

I been ill this past week with a nasty cold and on Thursday I really felt like watching Rambo First Blood for some reason. I was downstairs and because I felt like shit, I really couldn't be arsed to trudge upstairs for the DVD. To my amazement, it was on ITV 3 later that night lol! I normally hate watching films on ITV because of the damn adverts but being under the weather, I made do. Quality film seen a good number of times, best of the Rambo's for sure.

On Friday, I had my brother with his missus and kid around, after they went I watched TV for a few minutes and saw Howl's Moving Castle was just about to start on BBC 2 so I decided to watch that, the BBC channels being advert free. Great film from Studio Ghibli, seen at least twice before.

Today (Sunday), I felt like watching ALIENS for the bazillionth time, so I did so and bloody enjoyed the film as I usually do.

                        • I just saw New Moon.

Like, omfg. Shirtless guys. Like, everywhere. And every now and then, wet shirtless guys. OMFGASM. And, oh, it's just so cute how Jacob longs for Edward, always talking about him and shit. Kinda sad how he let's himself get used by the pack just so he can prove to himself he doesn't love a vampire, But, oh adfghjkl, the end, oh Jacob so wanted Edward. I think Edward wanted Jacob too. omfgomfgomfgomfgasmmfgomg

But seriously, it really wasn't all great. The acting was pretty decent. Kristen Bell was really good, though. She actually made her character seem mentally unstable (rather than a vampire-obsessed teenage girl). Probably was unintentional of her to seem so... unstable, but it adds some depth. Dakota Fanning was a surprise. Oh, and Robert Pattinson actually gets to show emotion in this movie! Oh, Taylor Lautner, is it bad of me to think of you in naughty ways because of the movie? I mean, he was 17 when the movie came out... but then again, I'm younger. That isn't illegal, right?

                          ... right?

The cinematography was actually really, really good. Also, the use of red as a distinct color every now and then actually produced some very beautiful shots here and there (Victoria, the city in Italy). And Alice was just great. Jasper still looks in pain, though. Probably too much buttsecks with Carlisle. Who knows?

In the end, it was decent. Not as great as teenage girls praise it as, but not as horrible as general society puts it as.

Oh, and shirtless guys. Wet shirtless guys.
