The opening scene was interesting, but it was all down hill from there. Maybe it was Ledgers character, but I just didn't see the Joker as a great villain. He seemed like some wimpy guy who managed to con some people to work for him through various means. I guess thats supposed to make him some epic villain?

The story dragged on far too much. I can't even really recall what the movie was about besides Joker constantly escaping police custody, or just harassing certain members of the public while Batman tries to stop him. When do the interesting parts start? There wasn't any kind of drama, and the Batmans love interest storyline was so hard to swallow with her eye bags and generally older looking appearance. There wasn't any clever back and forth between Joker and Batman. Joker was just some insane guy who wanted to see the world burn. That doesn't make for a very interesting villain imo.

I read a critic review that compared the movie to Heat, on that same level of a crime drama. But holy cow, how wrong they are. This was just boring all throughout.
Believe it the dark knight is overrated - And Chris Nolan the director cites the film Heat as a major influence on this movie. William Fichtner (the bank manager ) played in Heat and in the scene in The Dark Knight that was obviously inspired by Heat.

Of course Heat is far surperior than the dark knight in terms of crime drama

What the hell are they doing? The third film was terrible. Robocop was something for the 1980s. Leave it there, that's where it belongs. It's happy there.

Con Air - Great step-up from the DVD, PQ very detailed, noticed a lot of new things.
Face/Off - PQ not as great as Con Air but good enough improvement. Good movie.
Shrooms - Cheap horror movie some parts are just awful.. just a bit of fun really.
Vacancy - Good idea but badly thought out. Crappy ending (or maybe it was just too short).
Casino Royale - Didn't really like it even though I saw it before, it really dragged on towards the end.

Gonna start watching the Resident Evil trilogy on BD tonight.
I think they cut a lot of the action scenes leaving the film dragging on for ages "the casino scene made me want to fall asleep" people where complaining that Daniel Craig was too much like Action Man early on in production, Bond was never to be ripped etc.
Sean Connery is Bond simple as .
Timothy Dalton was the worst Bond ever imo even though I hated Roger Moore too he tried too much to be like Sean and his sense of humor is awful.
            First to last:
            Sean Connery
            Pierce Brosnan
            Daniel Craig
            George Lazenby
            Roger Moore
            Timothy Dalton
Good to see people aren't dick riding Dark Knight just because of a dead actor, I haven't it fully yet but from what I seen so far I prefer Batman Begins I don't like his batman voice either sounds like he's got throat cancer Michael Keaton was much better.

            • Foolishness, my boy!

Dalton brought a certain grittiness to the character that was more in line with the Bond of the novels, and a welcome change from the campness we got with the post-Connery actors. Daniel Craig is doing now what Dalton did back in the 80s, except that people welcome the change today.

              You keep it...old buddy.

They are making a remake, so a new variation of "the dead cop returned as the killing machine" story is going to be made. But who knows maybe they wil make something good, everybody said that Batman was dead after Batman and Robin, but then Begins and Dark Knight apeared, so, who knows.

                • The casino scene was alright, it was the parts after that dragged on like when they were on the beach, the bank transfer etc., it was god damn boring. I wanted to turn it off. I don't really think much of Craig as Bond either, I think it's something to do with his attitude and personality in the film.

I saw RE Extinction on Blu-ray last night. It seemed better than the first time I saw it but the Alice is god parts really sucked. I saw the deleted scenes too.. "Everyone is telling stories about you Alice".. what were they thinking, really...

See, the reason why Robocop worked so well was not only because of its themes (corporate greed, the loss of humanity and the transition of man to machine), but chiefly because the entire film was a social commentary on the 1980s. I don't think that same thing can work in this day and age, unless they go down a completely different route and throw a whole new spin on things. Regardless, it just won't feel the same, won't give the same vibe as the original. It's also kind of interesting to know that Robocop has all the traits of cyberpunk, yet it never sold itself as such, unlike a certain other film that got overhyped and praised too much for being something it wasn't.

                      • I watched Fight Club last night. It's still one of my favorite movies, and the book it was based on is also amazing. Chuck Palahniuk (the original author) is an absolute genius.

I've also been watching a lot of Marilyn Monroe movies. She's amazing <3
