Oh. Well then it is 80's. Stand By Me was and still is an amazing movie.

This is one of my favorite movies of all-time. Favorite 80s movie by far.

          • I'm watching Robin Hood: Men in Tights right now. Classic Mel Brooks film.

"Sorry, but a toll is a toll. And a roll is a roll. And if we don't get no tolls, then we don't eat no rolls.

            ...I made that up."

And then it was ruined with that shitty straight-to-dvd sequal."

Yeah, the second one kinda...I can't think of the correct term. FAILED. That's it. It revolved all around sex, instead of the plot.

              • every movie now and days has sex in it. or at least some kind of sexual intent to a extent.

                • See, The Breakfast Club if it was made today would have had sex in it. But nope, the film didn't really have that. There was talk about it, and I liked that scene where they open up to each other about it. A lot more mature than nowadays, more realistic. Unless of course, we ARE all sleazy today.

Most people at the high school ARE sleazy. I'm pretty sure that they've always talked about sex a lot in immature ways, but then again we're always hormonal teenagers at high school./

                    • Discussion of sex is usually better than most films' portrayal of actual sex. Which is why Kevin Smith films are great, with all these tangential off the wall dialogues. Chasing Amy is the perfect example, there's a scene that's essentially a parody of the Jaws Quint and Hooper scars discussion, except this time around it's about sex scars.

There definitely are films that simulate sex in an effective way (Don't Look Now is a famous example), but not today I find.

                        i like your post John.

thats another reason i like this movie, its a teenager movie and its great and hell im pretty sure its the first teenager movie that didnt have sex in it.
yes they did talk about it but hey everyone talks about sex. the only real sexual thing out of TBC is you get to see Claires panties for a quick second when Bender is hiding under the table hiding from dick..sorry Vernon.

                            • I saw Star Trek the other night, and I gotta say it was possibly one of the best movies I can remember going to see in theaters. If you have even a passing knowledge of Star Trek, I'd say go give it a shot.

Tons of action, lots of character development and I though they tied it in with the old series very well.
