That's a great film, I just saw that a few weeks ago actually.

Anyways I just saw Drag me to Hell. Probably the best film I have seen all year. Id give it 9.5/10 easily.

I love the style of horror that it is, and the director Sam Raimi is a great director. he can even make a film set during the day scary and have a lot of tension.

The film employs the use of jump scares even more than the classics RE games do. But I'm a huge fan of jump scares anyways, So I loved it even more. The characters were well written and the story is very interesting, and the jump scares are very very well done. It was very well filmed and Raimi uses to camera to achieve a lot of cool and scary effects. But most of all, he uses sound, the sound in the movie is very very well done. Mainly is cheap ways like having it all quite then having a very loud bang and a jump scare. But I love that so if your a fan of that you should definitely see this. I saw it with my best friend last night and we both thought it was very very good. It's the kind of films that scares you while you watch it, but doesn't horrify you. Your not going to get nightmares, just shocked and it's very fun that way. I like both styles of horror films.

One thing I did not like about Transformers 2 was the sound, for a movie of that scale the sound quality was terrible in Transformers 2. But Drag me to Hell had great sound.

Id say it's the best movie released this year so far.

      • Missv, after reading what you've said about it - I might actually go and see it now.

And DXP, agreed there. And I just finished sitting through Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within... again. I don't find the movie to be THAT bad, it's just long and makes me laugh due to the voice actor for Auron voicing a character in it, and the bonus stuff in the Collector's Edition.

This movie along with others that I have seen have really made me respect Robert Downey Jr. as a performer. He really is a very good actor.

          As for the film itself...

          Spoiler:

"To give the film its distinct look, the movie was filmed digitally and then animated using interpolated rotoscope over the original footage."

          Oh...so that's what that was. >_>

I really wanna find and read the novel now.
You should really see the start of the movie, Downey has some funny parts lol.

Robert Downey Jr. always has funny bits in his films even in his dramatic roles.

            • Anyone seen Zodiac? That was a snubbed film when it came out. Great Downey Jr. role.

Yeah I've seen it. Pretty good film with an excellent performance by Mark Ruffalo but Downey Jr steals the show again even in a supporting role.

                • I just watched two movies. The Punisher, and Yes man.

The Punisher was quite good, but it took a while to pick up at the beginning. And there wasn't enough emphasis on how important the death of one of the characters is at the beginning of the film. Also I felt it needed more close ups for some reason. But it picked up though, and John Travolta is quite easy to hate as the main bad guy villain. Good film overall though.

Yes man was a great film with an interesting premise and character development in it too. And Zooey Deschanel as the leading lady was a good choice. I like her, I think she's a good actress. Jim Carey's character was an asshole at first, but then turned likable pretty quick. It follows the generic story, Jim's life is sad, and not going good, his life suddenly changes when he decides to say Yes to everything, he meets a girl, everything it perfect, then something comes along to ruin everything. Sad point in movie happens, then they get back together and live happily ever after. The end. But it was still a good film though.

Thanks, you should, it's a film worth seeing even if you don't find it scary.

                  • I just saw "Let Him Have It".

It's a fascinating and quite sad movie about the fact based story in which a young man ended up taking the blow for his friend's murder and was hanged as punishment.

It takes place in 1952 London, so they still had that around. It's an independent film that none of you have probably heard of it, but it's worth a view on the IFC channel, which is what it came on. It may very well come on again, so be on the look out.

                      • I saw The Orphan yesterday, it was a good movie, refreshing if I do say so. The plot was portrayed well and the twist was something I didn't see but was hinted to throughout the movie.

                        • Just watched Funny People last night. It was pretty long (something like 2 hours 30 minutes), but it was really funny throughout. Not what I was expecting at all either.
