  • The Men Who Stare at Goats. Pretty amusing...especially considering I got to see the bare asses both George Clooney and Ewan McGregor. Some people complained it was slow or boring...but I thought it was a nice break from the comedies that have been made lately.

    • Saw Van Helsing for the first time today. Pretty sweet.

Vampires, werewolves and Kate Beckinsale. Where have I heard this before?

          • The Rage: Carrie part 2

Was, in no way, as good as the original. Hell, it wasn't even as good as the remake of the original that came out a few years later.

But, in all honesty, it could have been a good film.

It had the story (which was actually really great).

It had the budget! (the effects were actually great)

And the director made some really beautiful shots and overall amazing cinematography.

But, what made this movie so bad, was the acting...
The lead (Emily Bergl) was great. So was Amy Irving reprising Sue. They felt so real. Some other extras were good too. But, others were just plain ATROCIOUS. The boyfriend, the jocks, the rest of the teens. I mean, WTF? It's like they're reading a book to an infant. Jeeeeeesus Christ I wanted to punch SO many heads off watching the teens just say a WORD.

Hell, even all the other positives (in which there were MANY) couldn't save the movie. The acting was just... so... UGH.

            Potential ruined once again.

            • I was flipping through channels today while I was sick, and nothing was on but Dan in Real Life. I gave it a shot.

That movie wouldn't have been as nearly so bad if they didn't set up Dan as a bad guy when it came to his middle child's FUCKING STUPID INFATUATION. The annoying little idiotic brat of a daughter claims that she fell in love after three days, and the movie makes HIM look like the bad guy/moron?

I swear to god I literally 'rofled' at, "YOU ARE A MURDERER OF LOOOOOOVE!"

Oh, and Dane Cook was such a goody two shoes for the first half of the movie, it made me sick. xD The main female lead was just...an awkward character, she was jsut ODD somehow. Oo

All in all it wasn't a bad movie. Steve Carell hasn't EVER put in a bad performance from what I've seen. I just dunno if I could stomach watching it again after seeing exaggerated 14 year old angst that makes My Immortal(the fanfic) AND Twilight look like romantic classics.

I have to admit, the final voice over/monologue of the movie at the end was really REALY awesome.

                    • Watched Rent for the first time last night and just fell in love with it. I think any film that can make me cry is in instant-success, for me anyway.

                      Oh, Mimi <3 Oh, Angel ;-;

                          • I watched "They Live" a few days ago. It's a really cool, silly, ham-handed political sci-fi thriller. I can't believe "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum." came from that movie. The moment my friend and I heard it we were choking with laughter. Very entertaining movie.

Another great Carpenter entry. I always enjoy invasion/pod type stories because the idea that something can just overtake you and everything you know right under your nose disturbs me. Plus this one doesn't have as bleak of an ending, which is usually the only feasible way to end pod films.

And that's what you thought of it? Juh?

How about that part where the golfer yells "FORE! FOOOORE!" aims for D-Fens and takes his shot, only for D-Fens to pull out a shotgun, yell "FIVE!" and blast the coot's cart. I think it's an interesting scenario that in a way everyone's out to get this dude, making such trivialities as 50 cents for a coke and fast food burger blow him up. Also, the direction expresses such a great sense of the sweltering heat.
