  • Taxi Driver. From the way my friends were talking about it, I was expecting a lot more action than what I got. Good movie all around though.

Also watched The Ωmega Man. I saw the ending when I was like 10~12 years old but never actually saw the movie. Was pretty awesome as well.
The 50s version of Invasion has a great way of showing the psychological effects without using makeup and elaborate FX (the remake has both of those in spades). The kid in the beginning who's running away from his mother ("Don't let her get me!") and the scene later on when he's clearly changed just cuts through me. So disturbing.

      • Nightmare On Elm Street

Decent remake with lots of jumpscares.

        • Adaption of Li Cunxin's autobiography "Mao's Last Dancer", pretty good adaption as I read it when it was first published in 2003.

Ironic, as at the time - I had the flu and I've got the flu at the moment too.

Anyway, although the arrangement isn't exactly the same as his autobiography - I'm glad at the very least that a few of the little details were kept in (such as the slight translation mishap with the word "muffin").

From what I heard regarding the content (and from seeing Ichi and Audition) I expected it to be an uncomfortable experience; fuck me, this film says a lot! Great hyperbole about divided families and youth society in general, some dark comedy, and the Visitor character reminds me of the Western archetype of the lone rider who changes everything in a town.

This is watchable enough but it never feels like a proper Robin Hood movie.

                  • Just got done watching Sex Drive and hole-E fucking shit that is a funny movie. I watched the unrated version which has over dubs on what they originally said but still other than that its great. 8/10 for me.

                    • Trick r' Treat

I have to say, this was an extremely weird movie for me namely because it was not what I expected. I was under them impression that it was about some creepy child that killed people on Halloween. The box art leads one to believe that this could be a possible plot for the movie. Now, the creepy box kid does play a major role in the movie, but is not the one doing the killed.

The best thing I can compare this movie to is Creepshow in the sense that it is a mixture of a few different stories, but they are connected to one another in some way.

All in all, it was a cool movie. Interesting stories, a bit predictable at times, but still good.

                      • Watched Reign Over Me. Was pretty good. Didn't expect Adam Sandler to pull off a serious character as well as he did.

Agreed, the whole origin story approach didn't work.

                            Love that film!, so emotional.

                            Recently saw street dance.

Story and acting were god awful.

Music and Dancing was bloody brilliant!

over all not a very good film, the plot was dull, the acting was pretty rubbish, the only redeeming qualities were the soundtrack and the dance off's. Flawless and Diversity were on top form as was george sampson

                            • Saw Lakeview Terrace and was disappointed. Boring and predictable. Then watched Observe and Report and wish I could have my hour and a half back. Finally I got around to seeing Iron Man 2 and the movie was better than the reviews it was getting. Really enjoyed it and can't wait for the avengers movie.

                              • Toy Story 3

                                Motherfucking Toy Story 3!!!

Saw it at a midnight scrrening. Oh my goodness, movie was delightfully epic. No, seriously, EPIC. With some really, really smart storylines, cleverly placed jokes, gorgeous animation, and good 'ol nostalgia, the movie is spectacular. Hell, at times, it was even God-damn frightening. Remember that baby-rover-pin-head doll thing from the first movie? Fuck that there's something even worse. It really was a joyful thing to see, even if it started an hour late due to the sound problems. However, seeing all these older people (who most likely grew up with Toy Story) kinda warmed my heart. TS3 is worth it, trust me. The trailers do it no justice (in my opinion, the trailers fell flat compared to the movie). Seriously one of the best movies so far this year. Oh shit I'm so giddy right now. Afafafafafafffffa.
