True Grit. Damn fine film. Much stronger than the original John Wayne film. Jeff Bridges performance as Rooster Cogburn was really impressive, I kind of wish the film was a little more tense in the climax fight, but that's about it.
So i just learned they're trying to reboot Buffy as a film, and through that i learned Ridley Scott has been trying to make a movie based of Monopoly, and through that i learned there is a movie currently being made based of Battleships with a budget of $200 million. Can i get a big WTF?
saw 3 new films today. the first was Shrek for ever after. It was ok but im glad its the last one because those films started going downhill after the first.
The second film was Knight and Day. All in all an enjoyable action film, nothing special but I liked it.
Last film was Scott Pilgrim vs the World. My god what a brilliant, epic, amazing film that was! I'd heard it was good but I didn't expect it to be that good! I loved comic book/video game the style of the film as I found it really helped the comedy aspect of it and made the action scenes all the more impressive. I have to say that michael cera is really becoming a good actor. He was superb in youth in revolt and just as good in this film.
I saw the Black Swan... basically, it's like 1990's 'Jacob’s Ladder'. With the main character living in some sort of altered/alternate reality.
But for much of the film, I thought that the movie would play like 'The Fly'. Where the main character suffers some weird metamorphosis.
BTW, the 'sex scene' between Portman and Kunis wasn't that of a big deal. Maybe I've seen too much porn in my life. I dunno. Perhaps if Almodovar had directed that scene it would've been hotter.
Still, it's the best (and only) ballet-related film I've ever seen.
