I still haven't seen Barry Lyndon. I need to be in a certain "move everything aside" mood for films up to or over three hours. By God I did see Seven Samurai last month and I didn't regret a minute of it. The very basis for ensemble RPGs such as Final Fantasy.

Watched both parts of Deathly Hallows. Fantastic conclusion to the series, but still suffers the same problems the book did: awful, illogical final pairings, a contrived way of killing Voldemort (all the disarm wand stuff), and that ridiculous forced cheesefest known as the epilogue. On the other hand, the battle against Voldemort in the movie was infinitely more exciting and spectacular than the book's showing, so I have to give credit where it's due.
DH Part 1: 9/10, DH Part 2: 8.5/10A man chooses...a slave obeys.

Not to get too far off point, but Harry Potter (the character) just pisses me off beyond all belief. He was that kid in school that got away with everything for no real logical reason. In Harry's case, his parents died, so naturally we all need to feel sorry for him and let him do what he wants. Teachers gave him special treatment and everyone was absolutely fascinated with him because of the actions his mother did. I have a very Draco-esque logic...We saw eye to eye on Mr. Potter.
I will agree that the movie was good though: An excellent way to wrap up the series. And yes, the epilogue was not so fitting in the movie as it was in the book. The actors really retained too much of their youth to where it wasn't really believable to me.
Bully
Okay, so Netflix instant stream recommended this to me, and I figured "Why not?" The plot sounded interesting, and the darkness of teenagers has always fascinated me for some reason. What drives them to kill friends? What makes them basically snap? Anyway, I liked the premise of this movie, but if a movie has ever had too much sex in it, it was definitely this one. Every time the scene changed someone else was humping someone else. I'm not trying to come across as prudish, but I don't want a movie that is 60% sex/40% story.
This was actually based on a true story...Decent movie overall. Even though it did have way more sex than I think a movie needs, I still liked it.sigpic

Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives - I only had vague memories of this movie before, but its fuckin' hilarious.. what the hell is with that James Bond introduction section at the start haha - speaking of which, that eyeball scene is surely the inspiration for the RE1 eye blood scene before you start/load a game.

Rise of the planet of the apes.. Always avoided the previous movies as I thought the premise was stupid.. The last 30 minutes of this movie did not prove me wrong, its really quite ridiculous.. though how the police/army did almost nothing to stop the rampaging apes is quite similar to the London riots I guess. It was good to see John Lithgow and David Hewlett on-screen though.

Rise of the planet of the apes 9/10 Great movie, that's the way how to make a reboot.
Spoiler:
I love how they made a few hints on the future sequels such as first man made flight on Mars and then communication was lost with the ship...love it!!

I just watched 'The Devils Rain', a Hilarious satan-exploitation flick starring William Shatner, Ernest Borgnine, and Tom Skerrit.
The film is a really bad cheesefest, and I knew what I was getting into but nothing could prepare me for the overt cluelessness the film suffers from.
It did have a very strong almost unnatural atmosphere, but it could have been from the film not knowing what it was doing.

Bad Teacher. OK this movie is pretty sucky lol, but it was frigging hilarious when she was showing the kids in the class the movie "Scream" (the part where the fonz (principal) is getting murdered) and Diaz is drinking Jim Beam behind the desk... Just awesome...
