  • For some reason I didn't get around to seeing Thor when it was showing up at theaters.... my brother rented it and I saw it.

It was okay... but I can't believe its so high in terms of "freshness" at rottentomatoes, though. It wasn't THAT good.

    • Yeah, Thor was "eh." Perhaps it was the rushed and unnecessary love story between Thor and Portman's character, or the movie came off as too campy. I'll admit, I had a few laughs here and there. But, it didn't just click with me. I believe that First Class topped both Captain America and Thor though.

That was exactly my experience with Thor, First Class and Captain America.

I found the first one amusing but not great, I enjoyed the X-men flick quite a bit and Cappy was serviceable. The ending (after the credits) was more interesting to me than the whole movie.

Anyway... been reading reviews on Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows. Its getting a lot of good reviews. The word reviewers used quite often when describing the film was "fun".

I like fun movies... so I might see it. Good thing I'm not a Holmes purist.

          • Ok, this may not be recently but, I'm going to watch Demolition Man. It's for an English class project, in which each student gets to watch a sci-fi film,
and they are going to present them via power point.

            • On the weekend I watched "Inglorious Basterds", "Thirteen", and "How to rob a bank"

All were shit and I can't recommend any of them.

                  • I just saw this weekend 'Zack and Miki make a porno' (uncensored) for the first time...totally loved it, especially Justin Long's Role of 'a Gay Porn Star in an all male cast movies'. hahahaha!

                    • The Big Bang Theory Season 1-4, Jackass 3 + 3.5, Scream 4, Predators, Tucker + Dale Vs Evil, Money In The Bank 2011, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, The Long Weekend, Stone Cold Steve Austin The Bottom Line, Drive Angry.

Big Bang Theory is awesome if you havent seen it yet you are missing out.

Jackass is Jackass you either love it or hate it.

Scream 4 was pretty good I liked the killer in it, the boy was pretty bad ass. The girl kind of annoying. The same goes for all Scream films though once I knew the killer I wish I didnt if that makes sense.

Predators was a decent movie. Much better than the AVP shite. Didnt mind the main character just thought his voice was stupid though. Wish the original Predator put up more of a fight to.

Tucker + Dale was the suprise gem out of all my dvds I had for Christmas. I really didnt expect much from this but found it funny as hell. I went into the movie knowing little to nothing and really enjoyed this one.

Money In The Bank not really a movie but great PPV. Not only does Cena get booed out the f'in building but Punk beats him for the title.

Rise of The Apes was a nice suprise to. Dont know why but I didnt expect this to be much good but found myself enjoying it. Think maybe its the company you watch a film with sometimes had I watched this alone I may have thought it sucked but enjoyed watching this with my g/f.

The Long Weekend um...dont really know how to take this one. I didnt hate it but it was a little weird for me and didnt really explain itself. Some cool scenes with the Sea Lion or whatever it was and the actors or characters in the movie where different. They were more like the director wanted us to dislike them rather than the usual sucking up which was nice.

Drive Angry uhh not what I expected. Not a big Cage fan as it is. Specially in these types of roles. The Tax man or whatever his name was is kinda cool. Not much else to say about this.

Saving the best untill last. The Stone Cold Steve Austin DVD. This was class. The most in depth, emotional, fun dvd I saw this Christmas. Austin is THE man. Really really miss him and this dvd brought back good memories. If you are or was ever a fan of him then this is a must buy. You will not be dissapointed.

On a side note I took my g/f's daugther to see Puss In Boots today and thought it was really good fun movie. Quite possibly my second favorite Cgi Kids film next to Toy Story. I also saw the new Twilight bleurgh! and The Thing Prequel which was kinda crappy. Ridiculous Thing monsters some poor acting and the main bad guy at the end in the spaceship was so bad I laughed.

I quite enjoy the show too; however, every time I meet someone they get to know me better than just quick a acquaintance, I have the same conversation:

Have you ever seen 'The Big Bang Theory?'

As soon as I hear that question, I know immediately what they are going to say:

You remind me exactly of Sheldon!

I never know if this is really a compliment or sort of an insult because yes, Sheldon is smart, humorous, et cetera...BUT I think when people say I am like him, they are more referencing the OCD mannerisms and how Sheldon likes everything just so. Yes, I like to eat my PopTarts at 11:00 AM everyday. Is it that abnormal to be on a schedule? I like my lunch at 2:00 PM...You get the picture. I like routine and schedule, dammit! I think another thing people see is I am generally blunt with people and don't exactly realize it every time I do it. I tend to not notice subtle human emotions...Meh, point being, I can see the similarities myself, but I get sick of hearing it, I suppose.

I haven't really been watching many movies lately, but I have become extremely addicted to the show Mad Men that comes on AMC. The 60's seems like a fairly decent era to live in granted you were living in one of the major cities like New York or Los Angeles. Plus the show has January Jones in it (Emma Frost from X-Men First Class); I quite like this actress.

...The only thing I don't like about the show is in 95% of the time, someone on screen is smoking. I get it! These people like to smoke!

                        • Seen a few movies on flights recently.
Paul - Awesome. IMO better than Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Taken - Really quite enjoyable too. Not for any particular reason. It´s just engaging all through.
Another Earth - Absolute shit. Put me to sleep. I was interested in the consequences of there being a second earth, not what happens to two individuals on the planet. I fell asleep about an hour in.
Alice in wonderland - Turned this one off. As soon as a story starts invoking prophecy I know it´s shit.
Contagion - Was ok. Put me to sleep though. Not much happens in the second act.

I have to disagree with Crimson Elder too - I absolutely can not stand Big Bang Theory. I know heaps of people who like it (including my girlfriend. I´ll watch anything with her except BBT), but Sheldon is the biggest prick of a character ever. He´s such as bastard to everybody around him and no one holds him to task for it.
A friend of mine told me that the character has some degree Aspergers syndrome. I don´t know how true this is, but it seems that his behaviours show some similarity. Including the whole ´doesn´t read social sitations well´ thing. As soon as Sheldon comes on I just cringe. Everything else is ok. And I LOVE pretty much everything the new masters of cringe (Ricky Gervais and Steven Merchant) have made - The Office (UK), Extras, and Life´s Too Short (The cringiest of them all IMO). At least in those shows there´s straight man characters who are on the audiences side. Everyone in BBT just acts like Sheldon is being normal, and not a total prick.

That's the same view I have on that show. From what I have seen, it has a constant laugh button that laughs at everything that is not funny.

Speaking of films, I come across this beauty of a espionage thriller on BBC I Player.

I think this is a classic, and seeing a young Michael Caine was a funny sight. Definitely an interesting tone they went with when James Bond was out at the same time too (this come out in 1965). Great spy thriller.

What I think comes up best in the documentary, especially when he's talking about his final match with The Rock at WM XIX, is how much he lives and breathes the wrestling business. You can tell how much he almost regretted that as his last big match, but knew it had to go on. Here's hoping WWE can book that match against CM Punk for Wrestlemania in the coming years, Austin's made it clear he has at least another feud in him and he named Punk as the guy to be on the other side.
