  • I saw Killing Them Softly last night.

    Ho. Lee. Shit.

Emphasis on Shit. You'd think a movie starring Brad Pitt, Sam Shepard, Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini and Ray Liotta would be amazing. It just sounds great on paper.

Somehow, it turned to complete and utter trash. Holy god. Brad Pitt's character was awesome, but even he couldn't save this shitstain of a film. I'm just so glad these movie tickets were free. The best part of the movie was the concession stand guy giving us three cups, then going to fill our Hobbit popcorn bucket (free refills until April), then my dad coming out from the bathroom and taking his drink to go fill it, the guy coming back and not realizing what happened, and giving us another cup thinking he'd forgotten one. $4.75 free, and it was nice since four people went (mom, dad, my boyfriend and myself) so mom and dad got what they wanted instead of sharing one cup.

I cannot stress enough. That was the best part of the movie.

I give it a 2/10. It would be 1/10, but Brad Pitt's character and acting bring it up a point. Everything else about the movie just hurt so bad.

    • ^You say the film is bad, but you don't emphasize the reason to this.

        It's rather good isn't it!

It is indeed. The soundtrack isn't bad either.

You could say it's a pass.

The music hits the spot as did the movie. He didn't say creep, but the sentence was still Win.

Last watched The Avengers. Two-dimensional fun, but has it's moments.

              • Avengers wasn't two dimensional, there was some character development for everyone. Due to the size of the cast they couldn't do a complete heroes journey for these guys(almost all of them having had their own heroes journey anyways), but Whedon did a damn fine job. I think you're seriously under appreciating Whedons work, and this is coming from someone who isn't really a Whedon fan.

                • Avengers was "two dimensional fun" if you didn't see it in 3D.

                  It was fun either way.

                    • I keep the movies I watched in a local DB, just seeing the title of a movie every so often jogs my memory of it.

TPB AFK - just awesome. I love how the court systems in northern Europe are so non-confrontational.. if it was in the US they would want to chop the guy's balls off. And they need to free that guy with the beard, he is awesome.

                      • X-Men First Class

It's rather good isn't it! It's practically a reboot given the continuity issues it creates between it and the previous X movies, and Singer has a fucking hell of a job trying to make it all work with Days of Future Past.

But... if Singer gets Days of Future Past right, he has in his hands the keys to blow Avengers clear out of the water. Days of Future Past story could create the movie that could dominate 2014 hard. I hope he gets it's right.

                              • Or the biggest clusterfuck. I liked that they messed up the continuity with First Class, I don't want to think about X-Men 3 or Wolverines Awful Adventures.
