    • I'm currently in the middle of the Matrix. Haven't seen it in a while.

That opening sequence is a bit stupid and exaggerated. Doesn't really set the film up well.

      • I watched RE: Apocalypse (BD) and Leaving Las Vegas (DVD) last night. Not bad... Though Leaving Las Vegas was a bit weird, I don't know how anyone could survive past a week drinking the way the main character does.

        • I'm in the middle of Fight Club now, I'll finish it off tonight, then The Matrix tomorrow night.

I recommend Equilibrium. Underrated film. In the end, you have to ask yourself this: Which do you prefer? Christian Bale, or Keanu Reeves? I think the outcome would be pretty unanimous.

            • I've just watched Fudoh, which is a Takashi Miike film. I don't know how many people here are familiar with his directing, but he's one of the most diverse (not to mention insane) directors there is. I've seen a lot of his movies before, like Audition, Ichi the Killer and Happiness of the Katakuris, they are all very deranged but Fudoh just takes the biscuit. One of the leading characters is a hermaphrodite assassin who kills by firing darts out of her vagina and into people's faces... 'Unusual' isn't the word!!

                • Reminds me of Tetsuo: The Iron Man. That had a man with a robotic penis, and I don't mean the friendly and welcoming kind that Charles Dance had in Space Truckers, this thing was practically a large drill attachment that he uses to fuck some chick, shredding her vagina in the lovemaking process.

                      • It's also a form of body horror in a way too, which adds to the greatness.

                        • I saw the 2008 remake of Day of the Dead. Although I was warned about this film, against my better judgment, I figured I would have to see it for myself. This film is an extremely cheap and bastardized attempt to cash in on the name of Romero's "Of the Dead" series. This movie had nothing which made the original Day of the Dead movie so great.

The movie was boring and the only thing scary about this movie was that the actors agreed to do this film. It tried to hard to be like the Dawn of the Dead remake and failed miserably at making anything believable in the movie....

                          Horrible.

                            • I think the creators got him purposefully to trick people into watching it so we would think it was a sequel to the Dawn of the Dead remake. That movie was actually watchable and created tension.

                              • I wasn't gonna bother watching Day of the Dead remake, so definitely not now. Might try Diary of the Dead though... also gonna pick up the original Dawn of the Dead/Day of the Dead on Blu-ray.
