Scariest horror movies

The most psychologically disturbing film I have ever seen is "American Psyco".
The movie doesn't exactly classify as a true horror film, but those who have seen it will know why I say it's "the most psychologically disturbing film I have ever seen".
Horror films have and will always remain my favorite movie genre, so I love and grew up on them all... Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, Nightmare, Night of the Living Dead, House of 1000 Corpses, 28 Days Later, etc. You name it, I like it (except for newer cheesy teen-horror flicks like "When a stranger calls", etc).
In term of "scariest", for me that would have to be the Hellraiser or Friday series. They're not scary to me now, but being forced to watch them as a child gave me profound nightmares.
The absolute WORST I would say is the "Chucky" series... Rated R for "retarded".I'm a blackstar.

Chucky is cool! His first three movies anyway... Like, they're more thriller than action though.
His one-liners are memorable:
Grandma: "Ugly doll..."
Chucky: "Fuck you"
Chucky: "No, please, Andy... We're friends till the end, remember?"
Andy: "This is the end, friend." (that one was kinda stupid)
"How's it hangin', Phil?"
"You've been veeerrry naughty, Ms. Kettlewell..." (that one made me laugh so much)

I actually enjoyed the hell out of it and found the dark humor hilarious.
What disturbed me about that movie is the fact that the main character could be ANYONE.
Hellraiser kicks ass. The concept is really disturbing, and I love Pinhead.I'm a blackstar.

i'd go for 28 weeks later as the kinda horror film to make me think and make myself scared by thinking of scenes and what if they happend to me (btw i live in London, so walking around in London, feels like being in the film) :O
But a scary moment would have to be Alien, when the captain is in the air ducts and the crew are watching a little screen with the dot of the captain and the dot of the alien coming towards them. God i was thinking "let me go into the ducts and save him" or from actually not possibley being able to be in the film i thought "GOD DAM, GET IN THERE WITH YOUR GUNS BEFORE THE CAPTAIN GETS IT".

Yeah, loved the first Alien. Really tense.
I vividly remember when Ripley tries to abort the self-destruct.
Ripley: "Mother, I've turned the cooling systems back on! MOTHER!"
"*computer says something about continuing the self-destruction system*"
Ripley: "YOU BITCH!" *she smashes a TV screen*
