  • The X-Files: I Want To Believe

Australia got the movie first, so naturally, wanting to feel special, I went and saw it today, knowing that only me and my country can see it at the moment.

It's pretty good; not much alien activity though. The thing that came closest to paranormality was a psychic that was helping Scully and Mulder with finding a kidnapped chick. Spoiler:

The best way I can describe it is that it's a cross between an ABC murder mystery show, and a Channel 10 hospital show.

The movie is a bit slow, and I don't think you would like it if you don't have much patience for movies. I enjoyed it though, and my popcorn kept me company through the boring bits

    My score: 7/10!

Well, though I'am not a big fan of X-files and I'am not really looking forward to see it, but I can't but say that Australia actualy shared the place of the country were the movie was shown first with Ukrain so you weren't the first. It's kind of strange that in my country movies premieres happens earlier than in other, but it is good for me I just felt proud for my country and thought that I need to say that. YAY!!!! now you can kill me.

I'm going to see this movie on saturday. I am a big fan of the series and have been waiting for them to do another movie for a while. Some how I think this movie might be a disappointment but I guess I will have to wait to find out.

I just wish they would make a new Stargate movie already.... Stargate SG1 was awesome! Sorry to get off topic a bit...

I'm not a huge fan of X-Files, but I think I'll give it a try... only on DVD, I'm not that hyped to spend my money on the big screen.

I bought the first X-Files film on DVD, and finished it this morning. Truth be told, I think that the first one was better than the second. Much more action-packed, which is more my thing.

Didn't they make Stargate Continuum? That came out recently, albeit straight to DVD I think...

I was a huge fan of the show, but the last season just didn't feel right... I'll give it a watch though...

Same here, I prefered those too. I remember having nightmares from that Tooms one when I was younger.

Tooms freaked me out also, I think I also still have the Tooms trading card, that used to give me nightmares as a kid.

I'm a tremendously huge X-Files fan, and have seen every episode in the series (and loved every minute of every episode).

Bad puns aside, I Want To Believe this is going to be a great film, but i'm feeling skeptical. Can anyone who has seen it put my mind at ease?

Die-hard fan response only, and no spoilers, please.

                          This movie was pretty terrible.
I mean, as a resurrection of the TV series... it kinda failed... Sure, it contained everything I expected and stuff... but my expectations weren't exactly high.

Though, I loved the acting of Mulder and *spoiler* when they had their respective scenes near the end during the *spoiler*. There was just something hilarious about the whole thing.

Financially the movies tanked, only drew 4m on its opening weekend I read, they again it wasn't particularly a smart move to go up against the Dark Knight, they should have possibly left it a month or so, however frankly I think the entire X-Files fad is over with, everyone I know who religiously *dunno why* followed the series gave up interest after season 4 or 5 and reviews of the movie are pretty terrible to begin with.
                            Definitley pass.
