As the title says, are there any musicians 'in da house'?

I've been playing Bass guitar for nearly 7 years (As of January 09) and it's pretty much dominated my life. These days i don't know what i'd do if i couldn't rock out in my band with my bass, it's the most theraputic thing ever (I suffer from Tourettes Syndrome and when i'm playing it i totally stop ticking).

At the moment i'm playing a Warwick Streamer Stage 1, but i've previously used Schecter and Fender. Warwick nails the sound i'm looking for the best, beefy low end with lots of sub and also keeps the clangyness for higher definition.

Played in several bands over the years and i'm currenty in a band called The Truth About Comets. I won't link our website as i seem to get accused of 'advertising' whenever i do, but the site (and our myspace) is easy enough to find via google if you're interested. There's three songs on there to listen to

So, anyone else play an instrument? How important is it to you? Just a hobby or more of a way of life?

Me and my brother pitched in for an electric guitar, and we got one...
But I dont have enough patience to even learn it rofl...
All I do is sing, and I've been told I'm good, but I'm not even in a band, and I sing for fun.
I admit I'm not tone deaf, but I don't think Im that good.

I've got 3 guitars. I've been playing since 2004. Mostly as a hobby. I'm not very good, but I do enjoy playing. I'm not in a band or anything.

The first guitar I have is a Squire stratocaster. It's red, because they're the fastest . I wanted something entry level, but also servicable, and not complete garbage.

Then I came to Japan, and bought this bass guitar. It's a Greco, from 2002. Greco is a Japanese brand. In the late 70s and early 80s they used to reverse-engineer Fenders and Gibsons, which are nearly indistinguishable from the real things. It's a recent guitar, but I think the design might be a copy? I'm not sure what, as I'm not really into bass guitar. I got it because I had a windfall of cash (ie. from gambling'), and wanted to try something new.
You guys should recognize the sticker I've put on her ;).

Then last christmas I saw this. It's a 1975 Greco copy of a Les Paul Custom. A bit before Greco perfected their copies, but still awesome. In decent condition, and was only about $250! I had to buy her.

I really enjoy playing her. I've got a VOX effects panel which I can get some awesome sounds out of. I can spend hours mucking around. I've never been in a proper band, but I used to jam in a friends bedroom. I had my friend on drums (who is in a band), and another friend on lead / rhythym. We just used to change as we'd fuck around on different songs. Mostly old Nirvana covers, and Greenday and the like.

Any my favorite guitarist is Brian May . The man's a fucking wizard.
Sorry about the small pics. I've lost the originals > <.

Been playing guitar for a few years now, though only really put any effort into it the past 2 years. Currently using an Ibanez RG350EX in black, and loving it. For the price range, it's pretty much unbeatable from what I've seen, and it sounds fantastic too.

My back up is a horrible Westfield SG, which I've had for a few years now. It's decent enough for metal tunes and such, so I use it mainly for C# tuning. Tuned that low, it sounds fine, but for higher notes, it's a no go as they sound muddy as hell. I'm planning to replace it was an Epiphone SG after christmas, which I've been meaning to do for a long time now. Cherry red me thinks.

As for my acoustic, it's just a cheap Stagg round back. I believe it's an A1006. For all the acoustic I really mess around with, it does the job.

          I'll be honest;

Played Recorder from 4-6 years old
          Ocarina from 7-10 years old
Clarinet and Alto Saxophone from 10-16, got to music exam level 6 for Clarinet and 3 for Saxophone.
Acoustic Guitar for 2 years in college, didn't really enjoy it like others probably do anyway.
Bought a bass in uni, but its gathering dust.
Will probably get back into music when I relocate *due to work if I get the job*, won't have anything else to do.
