The funny thing is that the intercooler in most cases probably wont help you against common variation of the RRoD "issue." Infact, I think some reports suggested that they might even trigger the effect faster. Though, it might help you against overheating the GPU if you're in some realy heated area. Though, overheating the GPU usually happens thanks to external heatsources combined with an early generation 360... So... yeah...

I also now have a renewed one year warranty plus the three year warranty for the RROD. This is great considering the fact that my original warranty was up on my last unit, and that I was close to running out of warranty for the RROD.
(Yeah! I take great interest in being nosy on this part. Personal research. So if you can share with us what model it was too, then even better )

I bought the Nyko Intercooler but on further inspection, if you use it with your 360 it voids all the warranty on it and like someone said above, it's supposed to leech much needed power from your console which can cause damage. It's also not really necessary, given my room doesn't get very hot. I'm no way voiding my warranty for a patent pending cooling fan that isn't an official product and has extremely mixed reviews.
I've not lost a 360 to RROD, but I did lose a 360 when the graphics card chipped/fell out cos of heat I assume. I was playing Last Remnant then the picture went fluorescent green, then fluorescent pink, then I could get no picture at all.

Ive never had a problem with my 360.
But my PS3 is starting to mess up a little cause my bitch step mom dropped it when she moved it to the lounge room when I was out somewhere.
I wonder if I could send it back and get it repaired, it still works, just has a shit load of glitches and it freezes sometimes. I think the laser has been knocked out of place a bit too.

But it's only happened to me about 2 times. We had the Xbox replaced the first time, and the second ran well for about two years until I let it overheat twice, in which it got the RRoD a few days later.
Thankfully, the three year warranty allowed me to send it in. Got it back in about a week, replaced the heat sinks and the fried chip. Works like a charm now, and is much quieter then before.
Microsoft is generally not that generous, but they seem to care about their customers enough that they extended the warranty for RRoD to three years instead of one. For free, mind you.
Oh, and they allowed pre-order of Windows 7 HP for 50 dollars. The price of a freaking Wii game. On top of that, Vista users can upgrade to Windows 7 FOR FREE.
Enjoy your $300 Mac OSX Leopard, you pawns. With little to no differences, I bet.
/rant. Sorry. Don't flame me, either. I just get like that sometimes...
