hey guys!! I was so happyly playing games on my favourite gaming system, and today I go to play and I realize someone has left it on ALL night on the menu of a fucking football game!! (I never should have left my little brother buy that game), so now it has the E74, what I wanted to know is: do repairs (out of Microsoft) work? I can't get acces to Microsoft from Uruguay, so it is the onlly way... or buying a new one.

Repairs can work, if they actually do true repairs. There are plenty of fixes that will give you some time with the console before it dies, but reflowing the chips, which is the most expensive, gives you the best chance of survival.

No, it basically re-solders the chips in a way.Comment

oh, yeah, thanks, I passed the hole day finding someplace to fix it, finally a friend who owns a video store (and has xbox360 for rent) helped me out. He'll send it to the guy he fixis his 360's and it may be two things: problems with the AV cables or the power ones (this two are VEEERY unlikely), OR what you sed, the chip has to be re-solded with a special tooll which aparentlly noone has in Uruguay, so I would have to send it to argentina, and lets just say the price would be: 200 dolars!! too much, I'd rather buy a new one before paying that price. Who knows, luckily I'll have my answer by twesdayComment

I've gone through quite a few, but luckily the one I have has been with me for 2 years now.
So hopefully if it breaks it's before the 3 year warranty.Comment

Mine luckily hasn't done it to me (knock on wood)
A little bit after I got it I thought I was going to but it turned out it was over heated because only 3 rings were red. I freaked out though before I found that out.Comment
