  • Flu/cold's this winter.

Well my christmas was ok, but about 2 weeks ago i picked up the flu from my sister. She comes around my house blurting and coughing with a runny nose, i pretty much didn't think i'd get it but low and behold 3 days later i contract the flu. This flu was pretty bad, it hung on for 8 days so i was so happy to be rid of it.

4 Days ago she pops over my parents house with me there with ANOTHER COLD/FLU. This one was so much worse then the last, im coughing my guts up and sneezing like crazy, i have this stupid headache and like no energy.

There's so much flu and cold's going around england this year, anyone else had it like me? i remember it being on the new's.

God i hate having a blocked nose lol.

Hope u all had a better time then i did .

For the most part was sick all over christmas too, mum brought home the flu from the school she worked at, and it did a number on the whole family pretty much.

So far this winter I've been fine.
I haven't taken a flu shot, even though it has been STRONGLY recommended by my employers. (Japanese people never tell you do to things, but they only strongly suggest. I just play dumb). I'm the only foreign teacher, and so if I'm sick the whole school shuts down for a day or two - not good.
And kids come to classes when they're sick. They pick up viruses at their usual schools and usually other kids at the English school I teach at get sick from them.

Strangely, I've yet to be infected with anything this winter. I don't know if I'm from good stock, or my body's had experience with this virus in the past, but I'm feeling fine, and won't be getting a flu shot. #1 because I don't want to pay when in less then 2 weeks I'll be enjoying the beautiful Australian summer, and #2, because I don't like to recieve excess medical attention when my first language isn't the same as the doctors.

The one i have atm is pretty annoying, headache, runny nose, acheing all over, sneezing like some kinda hoover, my eyes are on fire and my throat is very raw from the coughing.

I woke up this morning and it was so bad i swear lol, felt like i was gonna die or something.

I think i'm pretty unlucky to get 2 of them in a month, but i'm still pretty pissed at my sister for coughing all over me.

i got sick from the same reason cuban olive got sick, people really need to cover their mouths. i had to do the whole lysol, steam everything to disinfect thing too. we ended up cancelling our christmas because of it. but i got over it in 5 days or something.

                  i recommend comtrex for flu
for sore throat you should drink a little warm honey and lemon juice, it'll coat your throat
oh yeah vitamin c works good too.

                  on another note,
my friend's workplace had a person working there with advanced TB, they isolated the sick woman and then brought government nurses or something to give everyone shots because it could become like a plague. it became a big scare because the woman who was sick was always breathing over people or coughing without covering her mouth. ugh it's why i hate taking the train over here because it's like people don't have manners anymore
