Suddenly, people are doing it? I hate the 21st century, it's been nothing but trouble.

    I miss the 1990s.

Back then, anime fans were just balding fat blokes wearing 'Ghost in the Shell' t-shirts who despite their repugnant appearance, were actually highly knowledgable on anime and made great conversationalists regarding hentai and Star Trek lore. As opposed to all these idiot juvenile cosplayer cocksponges, trollicking into Forbidden Planet and being irritating pissweasels around the general public.

    yup
    1990's were the best

    good music, ok friendly people

    now its

crappy music, shitty people, shitty places, and all around shitty times

      Several reasons why 90s > 00s

      In the 90s...

      Japanese animation wasn't a religion.

      Metallica released the Black Album.

Doom, Quake and Half Life. 'Nuff said.

      SEGA didn't suck.

      Capcom didn't either.

      BUT in the 00s...

      Japanese animation became a religion.

Metallica's bassist Jason Newsted left, and they released St. Anger.

SEGA whored as many childhood icons of yours as they could.

Capcom realized that money is more important then you.

I can't remember the last amazing FPS that I played.

Yeah, I think you can realize the parallels from here on.

Capcom is a company, they are doing it for money. They don't have to realize that.

tho i dont mean to be a dick but im just voicing my own opinion
but the black album and st.anger sucked

everything from kill em all -and justice for all was good
everything from there was beyond from coming back from greatness

What the fuck is this thread even about? Wrestling cosplay and Metallica in the 1990's?

Also, the only good Metallica albums were the ones released in the 1980's + Death Magnetic.

i think if some people want to dress up as characters, let them, it's not hurting you is it? i don't coseplay myself, but i have no real problem with people that do.

i agree with almost every statment there. excet the shooter one, there have been some decent ones lately since 2000 anyway.

oh and... Old Metallica >>>>>>> New Metallica

but it's when thye do it soley for th emoney it becomes a problem, IMO money should never be the main drive for a company who is creating game or making movies, and you should not be motivated by how much money you might make.

as soon as money becomes the primary focus and reason for wanting to make something, that is when they should stop.

I've been to a couple of anime conventions.
Skinny, *very* hairy, Caucasian men who dress up as Sailor Moon is *NOT* safe for your sanity.

But yeah, I generally don't have a problem with people cosplaying. It's mainly for fun and some people can pull it off really well. I just see it as a smaller-scale Halloween or larger-scale theme or costume parties.

Just when people obviously *can't* pull it off and they try to anyways either for the lulz or just to disgust some people (again, the sailor moon cosplayer).

A mate of mine told me that some 14 year-old cosplayers turned up at a Forbidden Planet store, and started gabbering on about Death Note. Awful people. Poorly dressed.

If you're ever in Derby I'll have to take you to my local place, Tokyo Otaku, run by a fat hairy man named Will. Who I also play Warhammer with. Then you can see some true freaks of humanity, and how they're dealt with.
