thoughts on Nobuo Uematsu

after hearing everyones thought on the FF series, i have to ask the opinion of the music.

I think that Mr Uemetsu makes some of the best video gmae based music ever, and with his band the black mages doin covers of it, i have to ask.

is he great or what?

he's pretty good but i have to say he's lost most of his touch in recent years. He did that one vocal song for FFXII which absolutely sucked and correct me if i'm wrong but his last full game was Lost oddyssy which isn't that great either ..

but still some of his tracks are still memorable to me, like "To Zanarkand" from FFX.

His music hasn't been all that great since FFIX, however I thought Kiss Me Goodbye wasn't too bad as FFXII's main theme *Compare it to the Japanese version of the track released in a single and you'll realise that the original isn't all that bad*

He's okay I guess. I like Yuki Kajiura's videogame music better. Xenosaga III's OST is luv.

FF7 and 8 are the best soundtracks he's done IMO. Though he did a few good tracks for FFXI.
