Definitely excited. My brother has a tattoo scene on his arm...and its basically him with his own version of the monsters. I loved the book when I was little so I'm definitely going to see it.

"And when he came to the place where the Wild Things are,
        they roared their terrible roars,
        and gnashed their terrible teeth,
        and rolled their terrible eyes,
        and showed their terrible claws!

'til Max said, "Be still!" and tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once, and they were frightened, and called him the most Wild Thing of all, and made him King of all Wild Things!"

Isn't this movie being completely scrapped and re-shot? I thought the execs at Warner Bros. weren't pleased with the job Spike Jonze did?

The trailer was just released yesterday. What you see in the trailer is probably the 're-shoot' you speak of.

I just heard of it tonight, though, so I wouldn't know.

Well, I read the movie didn't test well and audiences found it too scary and the kid wasn't likable enough. And, the fact they were pissed about how much money they had sunk into a glorified "art-house" movie.

I just wibbled. That was one of my favorite books when I was a kid! This is the first time I heard of the movie. I actually may consider seeing it when it comes out. That trailer is pretty impressive.

This film was actually announced way back in 2000 along with a teaser trailer. I remember I saw some images that surfaced in 2006 with the boy in his costume.

Um, okay. Cool. But now, 9 years later, it's coming out!

Just thought I'd let you know, since some people never knew about it.

Parts of this film were shot, quite literally, across the street from where I live.
It was shot in 2006. I remember Angus Sampson was a regular radio guest on my favourite radio show, and while he was filming, he couldn't really say anything other then the title of the film. I always wondered what happened to it...

I agree - what an amazing trailer. Looks good and I anticipate its release. I enjoy films with a distinct artistic vision. They are a breath of fresh air amidst the usual dung like "Fast & Furious" or "Meet the Spartans."
