I'm excited to see it, I think remakes are really interesting and fun. I know allot of the horror movie fanbase despises the treck on such holy ground but after so many years have passed since the original movie was released and based on how closed minded movie goers can be in terms of old movies, I think restarting the original franchise is the best way to keep it going. I was never a fan of where the Nightmare series went...by Freddy's Dead the series had gone far too comedic for my liking, so I'm hoping this time they'll maintain a nice dark sense to it. A joke here or there, wouldn't kill me though.
As for the off topic - Laurie in Halloween, I think she was just as 'good' as the original, with a little more dirty jokes and a little less of a pot head.

And could you elaborate on the deaths and such, in spoiler tags of course. I think it's really the nightmares that are going to sell this for me, I'll turn off my brain until they happen.
Spoiler:
A new character, Dean, is the first to get killed off in the beginning of the film, he is basically slashed through the chest, but we don't see Freddy since it's happening in his sleep.
Then we have Kristen(Tina), death scene is basically the same as in the original.
Next is Jesse(Rod), his death scene also takes place while in the jail cell, only this time we see Freddy killing him. He basically gets gutted by Freddy, then Freddy says, "The brain keeps working for up to seven minutes after the body dies...I still have four minutes with you." Then he finishes him off.
Nancy and a new character, Quentin, basically end up teaming up together to take Freddy down.Last edited by CODE_umb87; 05-07-2009, 05:08 PM.

Wow, sounds grotesque. The only remake I'd like to see is Hellraiser, and have it directed by the same director who did "The Cell" and "The Fall"...it would be the most beautiful horror flick ever lol."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."
Resident Evil/Castlevania/ Silent Hill/Onimusha/Tekken /Dark Souls
