So people who were worshipping sacred forrests, rocks, sacred grounds, or even animals, spirits of both home and the woods, were being called "pagans". The sacrifice of livestock in this case usually meant that certain parts of the beasts were used in the rituals, but in most cases, everything else was eaten.

    So, the sacrifice usually meant giving the "spirits" the best or most important part of the killed goat (or whatever) while everything else was consumed as usual.

    So if youre looking down on "pagans", try to check where the word came from and why was it used, along with misconceptions about it.
    I don't look down on Pagans, Satanists or Witches. I think that there religions are very interesting and i am eager to learn more about them.

    I also love to write horror stories involving ancient religions and such occasionally. Which is why i tend to always think of them as evil or something. Sorry if I've offended anyone with my views on ancient religions.

                Agnostic.

                I try showing respect to people who are religious. But it does kinda annoy me when some people try to force you into a religion.

                    Well I was thinking more like people who show up at your doors, but coming from a Catholic high school, I guess that works too.

                      I'm an atheist.

                      I just don't care.

                      Greek/Roman mythology totally rapes most modern religions anyway. Pity it'll be a long while before said religions become mythologies themselves.

                          Nothing = Something
                          Hot = Cold
                          Light = Dark
                          In other words there's no such thing as a god because nothing is something it just hasn't had time to develop a god didn't create the universe it was already there existing as nothing.

                            I'm going to begin going to confirmation classes (Catholic) this sunday. I am as of right now a baptist, but in the next month or so I will officially become a Catholic. I do not look down on anyone else's views though. I have at least one friend from every religion/non-religion... No kidding lol

                              If that's agnostic, then that's what I am. I've had looooooooooooong debates with my family about this (they're catholics, not devoted, but they believe); and always tried to force me to share their beliefs.

                              Religion doesn't work like that. I think that you have to believe it from heart, whatever you choose to follow. After all we all believe in something at some point, to have a purpose... life without purpose has no meaning at all.

                              (I know I got a bit Agent Smith there... but his speech about purpose was excellent).

                                I was going to post this in the angry topic but decided it would fit here just as well.

                                I am pissed of because today I had religion class. religion class usually isn't that bad but today it was terrible. Today we were shown a video about the life of women in Muslim and Islamic country. Now i don't want to offend anyone, so know that everything i say here was in the documentary i watched today.

                                It was a documentary about the lives of women in Muslim places, at first it was just like a usual documentary, but it was pissing me off a bit because from the movie it seems woman are treated as lower than men over there, which i think is very wrong. But what most shocked me which i didn't even now existed was that some Muslim family's practice female circumcision! And they do it forcefully against the persons will in the name of there religion! I saw in the documentary a young girl of only about 14 or 15 being held down by her parents as she screamed and they cut her privates up, she was begging them to stop. But they didn't, then later in an interview they said some bullshit about how women are not supposed to feel pleasure during sex and how they have to cut out parts of the vagina so they don't feel anything during sex. No if you want to do that to yourself that is fine, but forcing your teenage daughter to get the operation against her will is just fucking wrong and is disgraceful! Your basically ruining her whole love life before she even has a chance to have one in the first place. Now i understand most people don't do this but that fact that even one family did that in the name of Allah sickens me. And what angered me more was that after they cut out her bits, she was crying in pain and then her mother hit her and told her to get over it. That is just neglect and probably the worst parenting i have ever seen. I really feel sorry for that poor girl. That image is gonna be scared in my mind forever now.

                                I was also shocked when they read a line out from the Koran that encouraged husbands to beat there wives if they don't submit 100% to there will.

                                I really fucking hate religion for all it's caused. All religion, not just Islam.

                                EDIT: I just remembered, afterwards the father stated in an interview, that it was justified because he was protecting his daughter from being raped. WTF? Then he went on to say that all western women are sluts and whores for not doing the same to the daughters. And that they deserve to be raped or some shit like that.
