  • Did you know that Stars "sing"? They actually emit a sound that is unique to each and every star? In other words the heavens are singing. How poetic is that? It's little thing like that which make me believe God's existence even more.
Have you ever heard a raging inferno?

Now imagine one 1000x the size of the Earth. That's the only thing coming from those stars. Aside from the massive amounts of toxic radiation (does that associate heaven/God with death?). It's "unique" depending on the actual size of the star.

      • The one thing that sucks about Religion is it seems to just cause fights/arguments/wars. I'm a Christian but I NEVER judge others for their beliefs.

This thread is starting to cause a lot of drama in my opinion. It seems to of died down though which is good.

The main thing Jesus said in the bible which I believe is "Love thy neighbor" Means don't judge and love man ... Wow I sound like a hippie. ha

        • Thats because religion is not something you can see and hold as someones "opinion". There are arguments, truths and facts you can weigh. The problem arises when facts and figures are being fought with "feelings" and "scriptures".

          • the concept of religion I always believed was to explain what those back then couldn't explain, and as how human nature goes, we fear the unknown, so to stop a descent into utter chaos we created religion.

If I'm wrong and there actually is a whatever up there I'm fine with that. What I do hate is how people try to make their religious beliefs sound more concrete than others.

Let's just think of it this way

Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams - they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do - they all contain truths.

no one religion is anymore right than the other

This explains the Christian religion oh so well.

I'm afraid the book of Leviticus is old news. OT scripture no longer applies to NT Christians and afterward. When Jesus came, he had rid of the old laws and established new ones.

Exactly. You have the few crazies and fanatics like the "God hates fags" movement, and they get so much attention, all of a sudden, EVERY Christian is a judgmental ignoramus who damns everybody to Hell out of the blue.

                I don't judge anyone either.

Which is, of course, a bit of a problem...what with God promising Moses that he wouldn't change the laws or the rules and anyone claiming that they were supposed to is a false prophet.

I always took the Leviticus line to mean we supposed to have faith and when God couldn't be found in a test tube beaker not to, well, decide he didn't exist. It certainly doesn't mean not to think. That's one of the things we are supposed to do. The idea is that we're supposed to learn more about God and get a greater understanding, not sit around twiddling our thumbs.

                  • what happened to my post here in the religion topic? Hmm well I was arguing that it is the people who don't believe in a religion that has put the world into the state its in now because they make people devoted to certain religions to take extreme action against the people who don't believe. That is how 9/11 happened.

I'm sorry, but I have to call bullshit. The reason '9/11' happened was because the group that committed the act thought that EVERYONE who didn't believe in THEIR religion should be punished. It wasn't just because of non-religious people. Your claim that it is is ridiculously absurd and very unfair.

And I gotta agree with the others. Blaming non-religious folk for people the actions of people who were too fucking cowardly to actually live and fight for there religion and beliefs. Historically, religion is one of the largest motivators in warfare. It's certainly not the only one but it is a cause. And that was before atheists really existed, so it was two religions fighting each other, or the same religion with slightly different beliefs.

                            • Evey war, any war has always been fought for economical gain. Religion (among other things) has been used to fool the masses into supporting it. I dont really like to blame religion for worlds most horrible wars alone.

                              • Atheist but its not a religion so I didnt put it in the poll.

Also to just blatantly say that "non believers" are whats wrong with the world is laughable...since it was my understanding a huge chunk of the earths population is religious. (could be wrong)

It also doesnt help the "religious people look down on you if you dont believe" stereotype
