Star Wars is the first thing that jumps to my mind when someone says overrated. They're....okay films at best.

I think one of the most overrated RPG game is Final Fantasy VII doint get me wrong I love the game the story and music is great the main reason why it's overrated is because of the Villian Sephiroth I mean he's a great Villian the reason why the he's overrated is he because he burn a whole town to the ground he kills Aerith so what in FFV Ex death killed Galuf and yet no one goes crazy over that but really Sephiroth does not really do much he does more talking than action also Sephiroth is not really an evil person you just feel sorry for him he's nothing more than a guy who is really pisst off if he was more like Kefka for FFVI than I whould understand.

Unlike Sephiroth Kefka is a pure villain unlike most FF Villians Kefka did not have shades of gray he did not have a tragic past that turned him into a sadistic clown that you felt sorry for him over he did not have some greater purpose that he lost sight of yet at the same time he wasn't evil for evil's sake there was something twisted and nasty inside him that just made him that way and you could feel it but you also knew there wasn't any good in there.

I love Star Wars and in my opinion they are some of the greatest films ever. The new ones are underrated too.

Lord of the Rings is good to but i liked Star Wars better.

It appears I do have internet access . Anyway, I felt I had to chime in with this thread.

Novels: War and Peace. I love Russian literature but I couldn't wade through this thing. I got to perhaps 750 pages out of 1110 and I didn't find any of the characters compelling save for Natasha Rostov.

Films: Reservoir Dogs. Well, the dialogue and acting are great, but besides that this film is barren. Horrible pacing, poor direction, mostly underwhelming soundtrack, all around boring. I thought numerous times that I gave the film an unfair deal next to Pulp Fiction (which IMO, for a two and a half hour movie it's ultra tight), but the more I saw it the less I saw the point. I notice that more people quote the film than describe impressive scenes.

I've yet to see The Godfather, though I want to the more I hear about it. I've seen part II and boy am I impressed. Great contrast between Vito and Michael, and Coppola shoots some grand scenes.
