  • We have two completely different tastes in our games, when I say generic I mean, I can play any online shooter, it doesn't have to be KZ2 cus KZ2 doesn't really set itself apart from others to warrant high praise for its online

And no I did not spend my money on the subsription, it came free with a GameStop Edge Card lmao who would say no to free stuff

Reason why I didn't say much about AI cus it's not part of what I was saying at all, I was talking multiplayer experience and you two bring up the singleplayer experience

    • I think all TV, especially reality TV shows are so overrated. I can't bear to watch TV anymore.

TV needs to be canceled and streaming from the internet needs to take over. I hate ads. Especially the stupid ones that pop up at the bottom of the screen while your watching a show.

      • Technically, Killzone 2 was hyped, and technically, it delivered everything. The game is a technical wonder, with one of the most solid engines on the market right now. The lighting and graphical engines are unsurpassed on any console, and you'd be purposely swimming against the current to say this is not its strongest point. No other console game shows this level of on-screen activity and meticulous detail. The same goes for the online, which runs smoothly from game to game, without hitches or stutters, while holding a graphical milestone in hand.
I will most definitely agree here. Its powerful graphics system is definitely the strong point of it all. And the film grain effect in HD makes the game just...wow. Nothing more realistic then that on a console. But graphics don't matter much when it comes to gameplay, which I didn't hear much about from its hype. Mostly just its graphics.

The netcode is fantastically done, and technically, nothing beats Killzone 2 right now in the technical department.
Oh really? What about the great Crysis?

The moving around was different, not bad. It was a more realistic approach than the arcade-influenced Resistance, and the fast paced Modern Warfare. Because it's different than those two, does not mean it's lacking in that department. It's a good choice in sluggish gameplay, because the physics engine gives everything weight and mass. They meant to get this effect, and they succeeded. I understand that it's not your cup of tea, and that this is, indeed, up to opinion of preference. However, the controls work and do exactly what they were meant to do, so it's not a flaw in design. Not to mention, you can now enable precision aim, which will make it feel like CoD just about.
This was indeed my biggest lament. I understand it is simply a different way to go when it comes to controls, but it just doesn't fit well with me. Maybe I should play a little more...although I probably won't because I don't and won't ever own a PS3 until that darn price cut comes.

The enemy A.I. has been universally praised as absolutely brilliant. Up the difficulty level a bit and you'll notice why. There is no game on the market right now where the enemies use more intelligence and planning than Killzone 2. Especially on Elite mode, where this just shines brilliantly. The damage a bullet does is not even your biggest problem there. It's the sheer intellect presented by your adversaries. This isn't an opinion, but a fact of coding - Killzone 2's enemy A.I. is rock solid, and brilliant.

Hmm. Perhaps. I certainly didn't get to experience that though. It probably was the difficulty level. That, and I didn't play for very long.

The friendly A.I. is mediocre, I will agree with that, which also has been universally agreed on by just about everyone else. The enemy A.I., however, is a coding breakthrough.
Game developers usually don't do as well in this area then its enemy A.I. So I'll pass on this. Although that certainly didn't make the game anymore "revolutionary".

The story sucks. Nothing has to be said about that. It had a good background and concept, but it was told like complete ass.
        Yes, yes it does.

Killzone 2 was technically hyped, and is therefor NOT overrated or overhyped, because it delivered on that front - hands down. People just started expecting a revolutionary shooter, which it is, but only on a technical level; one that not many pay attention to.
This is also part of my main problem with it. I expected some more after awing at the graphics for a while. This is where it failed to deliver for me.

Not a bad shooter overall, no not all. But when you get passed the graphics, you don't see anything special aside from the enemy A.I. Thank you though, for showing light on it.

Ugh. Most American reality shows are HORRENDOUS. I don't even know why they call them "reality" shows. I guarantee you that most of it is scripted.

And I know this isn't really a reality show, but Monty Python for the win. They should show them on TV more often then those crappy reality shows.

And I have the impression that you're from the UK. If that's true, how can your reality shows possibly be worse then ours? Because our stuff is pretty terrible.

On top of the fact that most of the ads are for products designed to help you lose weight and/or make you more attractive. It's disgusting.

          • WeskerIncarnate, Crysis doesnt have amazing netcode. Its pretty mediocre by all standards. Plus, its multiplayer is just epic failure.

There are three games which netcode will literally blow you away.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Counter Strike series and Call of Duty 4.

            • I know. I was being a bit sarcastic. Crysis' graphics are overrated as well. There are games that surpass them already.

American Reality shows are horrendous. I'm not English though. Where did you get that impression? I am from Australia. We get all the American shows down here, cause most stuff produced here is of so low quality they need to import TV. Australian reality TV is just, like worse that dieing.

Never seen a British reality show.

Also, I'm not much of a Monty python fan.

                • The only 'reality' shows I enjoy are the cooking competition ones. Iron Chef America, Chopped, The Next Food Network Star, etc. The only downside is that you get really hungry when you watch them. I wish I knew how to cook.

I don't enjoy the cooking shows either. I can't stand shows like Master Chef and other stuff. It just bores me to no end.

I can cook quite well myself, so why watch other people cook when I can simply cook my own dinner and actually eat it, rather than watching other people eat.

I just don't see the point.

                    • Slightly offtopic, but there's this song that has "let the bodies hit the floor" sung over and over and over again. All my friends think it's great...

                      ... I think it's total shit.

This is the same exact argument you had for 'why play sports video games.' To each his own. I like to cook, I like to watch the shows to catch pointers and interesting recipes. It's nice to watch world-class chefs create decadent dishes in front of your eyes, and be there for the whole process. It's good for getting your creative juices flowing when it come times to cook. Execution, however...is a totally different ballgame.

Throw in the factor of competition, and these shows have an appeal to many.

                          • That song is used an awful lot...I remember a time when it was all over wrestling, along with 'My Sacrafice'. Annoying but not too bad.

Big Brother is overated. There is no longer any point in applying if you resemble a rational human being rather than a lunatic hell bent on self destruction and screwing in front of millions of people...who will never actually see anything, of course, they'll just be told it happened. I remember wathing it live once, when I was up at God only knows o'clock and all you could hear was the bird twitter cover up noise as they showed you compelling scenes of the outdoor areas because the people inside were talking. From the mircosecnd bursts of text they let you hear it was about parties they had been too over the years. I have no idea why it was censored...

Also, any movie by Uwe Boll. I caught some of Blood Rayne 2 a while back. You just can't pan those movies enough. Even saying it was the worst movie to ever exist is overating the damned thing...

                            • I hate that song too. Hated it the first time I heard it, and I hate it now.

Not to me. I just don't get the fascination with any reality TV at all. Id rather watch something intelligent and that was planned out carefully. But it's a shame that every good show like that gets canceled. Cause it's on to late and the prime time slots are full with more fucking reality TV. It's genius really. People will watch anything if it's between 6 and 8 PM while they are eating there dinner. And they have to pay no writers or directors, or actors to get the money they so want. I hate it so much. Reality TV needs to be banned.

Also in particular I never got why the biggest loser was so good. Ive always hated it. And never figured out how the concept of watching morbidly overweight people exercising on TV while you eat your dinner even got past the drawing board.

To be fair, comparing Iron Chef America or Top Chef to the shows you're referring to is pretty stupid. I don't know what kind of shows you're referring to, but when I think of bad reality TV, I think of shit like Survivor(which has been lame ever since Season 1) or Temptation Island or any of the crap that's on MTV.

Inspiration might have something to do with it. It's a feel-good story. And I dunno about you, but I eat dinner at the table with my family...not in front of a TV.
