I didn't name any specific show apart from the biggest loser though. I mean ALL reality TV in general.

ALL cooking shows. ALL singing shows (Idol sucks). ALL dancing shows. ALL everything that doesn't involve a script, a director, and a bunch of actors and writers.

Inspiration might have something to do with it. It's a feel-good story. And I dunno about you, but I eat dinner at the table with my family...not in front of a TV.
That's all good for you. But I haven't been able to do that since I was a kid, for, well, personnel reasons I'm not going to explain here.

Well, that outlook is pretty broad and ignorant. You must hate ALL game shows as well?

See that is the problem. There is usually nothing else on that is any better. Because the networks set it up that way. They all have similar stuff on at the same time usually. And people will just watch anything. I don't watch anything. If it's boring ill turn it of and do something else. I rarely ever watch TV much these days anyway.

I do. I think I just hate TV in general now. I rarely ever watch a thing. I can't stand the amount of adds, or the ads that scroll across the bottom of the screen. It angers me so much.

                Nope. Nope on both accounts.

Crysis graphics are largely unsurpassed even right now. There are games that "appear" to look a little better at first glance, but theres really no comparison. Look at HD pictures of RE5 for example. Then theres the physics and massive landscape which Crysis uses. Not even for a second has Crysis been overrated when it comes to graphics. Even the original videos, which are often said to be "false advertising" or overhyping by Crytek, are reachable with "ultra high" settings. Crysis, for all intents and purposes, is perhaps the only literally "futureproof" game as a vast array of its settings are hidden or purposefully toned down for future hardware.

Shame, that its multiplayer is a complete and utter miss and simplified bullsh!t but as a technical demonstration, aswell as the only really true sandbox game, it has definitely delivered, and will deliver for quite a few years.

                • I think that Uncharted may be slightly overrated. Though I shouldn't judge it yet since Ive not finished the game. Don't get me wrong it's a spectacular game and all. I just think it was a tad overrated, it relys to much on combat an not enough on exploration or platforming.

I may be wrong though but that's just how I feel when I play though it, I like the game a lot, but I feel just a tad disappointed. I think people have made it out to be better than it actually is. It needs more story too.

This I did not know. I not having played the game myself, it probably wasn't in my place to say that...

But, arguably, many are saying that Killzone 2 surpasses Crysis in terms of graphics, though I'm not entirely sure.

Sorry for getting a bit off topic, by the way...

                    • I dont think anyone minds. Anyway, people who are saying that KZ2 "has better graphics" are the same kind of people who said "Resident Evil 5 has IMMENSELY better graphics than Crysis has".

Im defending Crysis because its the underdog. They really just didnt take off with it and I fear that most of its potential will not be shown, not for a long time. There are no remarkable mods coming out, I havent heard (past rumours anyway) of any development studio taking the Cryengine to develop something on it and people are constantly dishing it, all while it has so much potential.

Its not without Cryteks own fault, either. Crysis multiplayer is the biggest bucket of fail ever "delivered", all things considered.

                      • Is Crysis really the underdog? I thought it got all the media attention in the world when it was released.

And you know, that's still the one game people use to test the limits of a computer's graphical power.

I believe my new computer will be able to run it on medium to high settings at a decent, 30 FPS. Is that good?

                        • Judd Apatow. I cannot stand the man or his films.

Neither do I find him funny, nor the actors that play in his films funny, nor his style of comedy funny, and lastly, I don't find his films funny.

I do not understand why and how this man has been able to make so many terrible films, it's like he just shits them out all over the place, contantly regurgitating the same old bullshit again and again. Yet people go watch them, laugh, he makes money and makes more films. I mean he has made over 17 films since 2004. 17 fucking films in a span of 6 years! Including 5 films just released last year. WTF!?

And why, why must Seth Rogan star in almost every one of his films? I hate Seth Rogan.

I personally find Seth Rogan to be funny as hell in alot of his movies besides a few.

Maybe he's funny in his real life but in his films he's just annoying.

It really is. EA said the sales were "strong", but at the same time Cryteks CEO blamed piracy for the low number of sales. It sold about 1.2-1.3 units in 4-5 months and I doubt it ever reached 2M.

. I would say that Crysis would have done *considerably*better sales and life-expectancy-wise if they worked on the multiplayer, because at first, the game didnt even ship with TDM! All in all, they had the market and necessary hardware to sell the game to. The problem was that the game had to deliver in every aspect in order to sell the way they expected it to sell. PC consumers are a tricky bunch and graphics alone wont cut it.

I have to give them props in all other areas though. Theyve been great to the modding community (even touching Valves reputation), their singleplayer was excellent (only true sandbox game IMO), the engine is magnificent- its so scalable that even my rig, which barely passes minimum reqs, still runs at 40-50 FPS and some settings are set conveniently to medium (all while the game looks great). And they have done a good job at patching and supporting the game.

But considering that the game was supposed to sell for its awesome multiplayer (too), the game is very short-legged, hence small community and lower than expected sales.

Most definitely. And I expect it to be this way for a long time.
