I do it because it makes me feel really, really awesome. Personally, for me, it opens all kinds of doors creatively; writing lyrics, poetry, drawing pictures. I like doing it because it makes you think differently than you normally would. Sometimes...everything just seems to make sense.
And of course, it makes everything better. Food tastes better, shitty movies are funnier, music sounds better, SEX feels 28949x better. I'll let this clip explain it for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPCkqqkGkwA
But just like everything else in the world, it's not for everyone. I don't hate on people who don't smoke, and even before I started, I didn't hate on those who did smoke. Oh well.Last edited by Vector; 02-22-2010, 05:26 PM.

I myself have only seen one bad trip, and it was pretty bad. The same friend of mine who's a dealer smoked the same weed we all did, about the same amount, and started freaking out. He disappeared for about 20 minutes before we started hearing someone yelling "help" from the upstairs bathroom. We ran upstairs and his face was covered with pukey toilet water and he was saying that someone was choking him. Freaked us all out pretty bad.
And then there's another friend who became a schizophrenic after smoking too much, and ended up jumping into the water at Jones Beach during a cold February night. He's currently on medication now and can't smoke or he'll actually switch personalities and become harmful to himself and others.
Again, like I said, not for everyone. All of my experiences have been pleasant, and I think that's because I don't do it every damn day, multiple times a day like some people I know. I use my head.

I used to smoke, but quit because every time I did it I would get so drowsy that I would not be able to do much. Besides that I felt pathetic for being a pothead. I voted yes, because it seems fairly stupid to outlaw weed when you have alcoholics who beat their wives and yet the police allow that to continue. Maybe if everyone smokes people will chill.

I wouldn't really call my self a pot head, ive never really bought or owned any weed just shared a spliff with some mates at parties. I do a lot better on weed than i do with alcohol, im a total light weight when it comes to alcohol anyway and the stuff just doesn't effect me very well. Ive never heard of any one having a bad trip before either. i gues its all about the person. all people react to things differently. for example some people get violent when drunk, while some people get the laughs. Its the same for anything really. One thing that does seem strange to me is that i know people who drink a lot and smoke but frown upon weed like its something dangerous and that doing it makes you rather pathetic. Ive always seen this as being some what hypocritical as alcohol and fags have many, many negative effects on your long term health if not properly controlled.

It's funny that this thread should be bumped yesterday, because yesterday I heard that the director of alcohol and drugs service at one of Australia's largest hospitals brought the agenda before the media.
Personally, I don't do it at all. I've got friends who do, and they have no problems with me not smoking. I've also seen it what it's done to some friends of mine, and that's why I choose not to smoke.
I think that from a law and order perspective, it's really obvious that the war a drugs hasn't worked. As the linked article says, in Australia it's easier to get marijuana than it is to get a pizza. Out and out banning obviously hasn't worked, so regulation and harm minimisation policies would be best. At present criminals control the trade. With taxes going back into hospitals and quit centres (just like tobacco), then I think it would be a better approach. However, the tax coin has to be used sensibly, and not just to line the government coffers.sigpic

My friend told me if they ever legalized marijuana he would stop smoking it because the thrill of getting it and "dealing" it would be gone. Plus the different advers effects it has on people would make the world go crazy. Operating machineray or cars (if not already properly trained) would kill ALOOOOT of people.
