I'm Angry

You automatically win this argument because you played the lolcat card.
Well, I am angry now. Well, in pain rather. I have this new bed and the wooden edges were really sharp. Just walking to turn the light off for bed and stubbed my little toe on the sharp wooden edge. Gareth started laughing and trolling me (we troll eachother regularly affectionately, not being mean) and after biting my pillow screaming for 30 secs I look up to see blood all over the floor. Then I put it on a pillow so my mum could clean it and put Dettol on it, and got blood all on the pillow as well. Now I'm in bed in pain. It goes away, then I suddenly get a real sharp pain.Last edited by Alexia_Ashford; 06-08-2011, 04:41 PM.

Edit: At least the repair service is going fast... The shipment company came today for the PS3 and take it to the warranty center, now it's just waiting from 15 to 20 days and I'll have a console back (papers said that I might get a refubrished console. WHAT THE FUCK. I paid for a NEW console! But whatever, I just want a working console).Last edited by Beanovsky Durst; 06-09-2011, 06:08 PM.

This thread is for venting, right? I'm in a venting mood.
I'm just so damn tired of every Nintendo console/handheld being labeled as a "gimmick" these days. It's as if people don't even know the correct meaning of the word gimmick. Now that the Wii U has been shown, it's all I'm hearing on every game site. I heard it when the DS first came out, the Wii, the 3DS and now the Wii U.. Did the DS and Wii have their share of "gimmicky" games? Absolutely. -But there were games that took advantage of the so called "gimmicky" aspects of the consoles and made them into great experiences. Using the "gimmicky" dual screens on the DS to play Hotel Dusk like an interactive book, or using the "gimmicky" motion controls to play and control Resident Evil 4 like a dream. The 3DS's lineup is too small to make any judgments now, but every trailer in 3D I've seen looks amazing. As well as all the conceptual things planned for the Wii U..
It feels to me that there is a double standard when it comes to Nintendo. The PS Vita has not one, but three of the so called "gimmicks" already present in Nintendo devices (touch screen, gyroscope, and camera) and yet it seems to be treated as if it's innovation (which it should be). Nintendo tries to innovate and it get's immediately labeled as a gimmick; or Nintendo makes a leap into HD with the Wii U, and it's not good enough.
All I know is despite these systems being constantly treated negatively (DS and Wii at their time of launch; 3DS and Wii U now) They have sold like hotcakes and continue to sell, while the 3DS just hit a million in sales. Why do people have to be so damn pessimistic? Why are gamers so jaded and cynical nowadays? (Well, I know why RE fans are..)
(Another gripe of mine is the constant calling of Nintendo first party games as "rehashes" of their other games.. Are not all games in a series a "rehashing" of older games? [I.E Halo, Call of Duty, etc] What the hell? But I digress..)Last edited by PracticalAl; 06-13-2011, 08:13 AM.

Well, I think PS Vita is just more of a solid platform, it will garner a very consistent response from the general public, never too positive or negative. While Nintendo have to go up and down/side to side to get a response on their console that just reached HD, just like how they did with the Wii and in the end most people were disappointed with it...

So I took time off from my job because I was on vacation leave. I come back, and my boss is so pissed that I didn't call in to ask if one of the dogs needed to be cared for. I'm on vacation, that's not my job. And, she never left me with such a responsiblity. So apparently I might be suspended.
Next day on her Facebook page, she rants "My god, my dogs are fucking smarter than my stupid employees." Her friend comments, "Just fire all of them!"
She says that unfortunately she can't right now.
Well damn, ranting on Facebook??

Of course they would, they're obviously about her. It isn't like a court, anything that could be construed as victimization or bias in the workplace won't stand when it comes to something like that (suspension/sacking). She just needs to make a note of these comments plus anything that she could have said in the past. I've seen people in disciplinaries for much lesser comments on Facebook. We're always told to never mention work on FB whatsoever. Very difficult to be fired if you're in a union and your manager is making unprofessional, provocative remarks.Last edited by Alexia_Ashford; 06-13-2011, 04:08 PM.
