    Thank god.
Thank God indeed. Hopefully this is true.

There is absolutely NO NEED to ruin a classic like Akira, because let's face it.

Since when has Hollywood made a good anime to live action film adaption? Dragonball: Evolution is a prime example of their tend to fail in that department.

I grew up on Johnny Quest re-runs, so a parody of them, is great. Not to mention the animation is solid, the writing is good, and best of all, it's a hilarious show.

    Satoshi Kon.

Someone mentioned him earlier and I have to agree. Perfect Blue is one of my favorite movies ever.

    It's Always Sunny...

A friend recommended this to me, so I watched season three (or whichever one was the most recent) and then watched season one. Great show. I absolutely can't wait for the new season in September.
    That would be me.

I thought that film was brilliant. Satoshi Kon is a genius.

Have you seen any of his other films? They're all pretty good. Seen every one of them except for one.

I mean, Miyazaki's good too, but Satoshi is so underrated, it's unbelievable. His movies are definitely on par with Miyazaki. And I like the way he animates his movies too. They're different in a way, kinda like how Miyazaki's films use a different art approach towards animation.

I've only seen Paranoia Agent. That was pretty great as well, if not a bit confusing at first.

Was that the ongoing anime series he produced? I've wanted to watch it, but it does not come on TV at all whatsoever...

        Where did you watch it?

It was a short 13 episode show. He directed it and it appeared on Adult Swim.

            Adult Swim eh?

I was probably too young to even notice that. The only good anime I vaguely remember are brief parts of Cowboy Bebop.

I will most likely see to buying them on DVD. In all their uncensored glory.

            Thanks for the recommendation.

It was on the air...oh, about 2 years ago at most. They released the episodes on DVD but I think they were ridiculously expensive.

I see. Well, after some research, the DVDs were released in 05 and a collector's set released in 06.

They must cheaper now, and I've seen a few of them in stores, however, they are pretty hard to find anyway and I want to score the collector's edition. Out of the few DVDs I've seen, I couldn't even find the first volume.

For those of you who said you liked It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, SEASON 5 PREMIERES SEPTEMBER 17th! They've put up a new YouTube page with 30-second teaser clips/commercials for the new season, and they're absolutely hilarious. The same type of ridiculousness I've come to expect from Sunny.

I have yet to see an episode. But I'll check it out eventually...

In the meantime, I continue to find Paranoia Agent to be extremely underrated. It aired on Adult Swim a few years ago, but that's about all it's been aired in the West.

Meanwhile, it continues to play on an Anime only channel in Japan.

                    Sigh...

                    • I watched the first season and most of the second. I think I'm going to start watching it again.

                      • The King of Fighters XII is grossly underrated. The SNK team put their frickin' souls in that game, and everything people could think of were complaints about the lack of characters (22 is still an amazing number, considering the overall graphical quality of the game), pixelated sprites or lack of modes. It's a pity that, when reviewing the actual game, people completely forgot to actually play it.

KoFXII is really underrated, it doesn't get enough credit for what it deserves

                            • Anyone seen City of God? It seems like a slightly underrated movie to me...

Unless of course, it just has to do with the fact that the movie is kind of dated.
