On my Twitter i have the various bands, sporting associations, athletes etc, who all use Twitter to get news to their fans directly without it all being spun through a marketing machine. I then have various websites who update with what they've got on the site and what they've got in the offering. Then there's various game developers who again can keep you updated without having to post a full explanation on their website.

I never got a twitter account. I always had the feeling that I wouldn't pay any attention to it like Facebook, or last.fm, or MSN, or AIM. The prospect of keeping up with and commenting on Nick Swisher's own page is cool though.

myspace is becoming shit and i ended up using facebook more. seriously, i don't even do anything on myspace anymore but upload pictures, and delete ones i don't want, and do layouts.

myspace has become so fuckin' stale, i don't see how people don't get tired of it, after doing so many damn surveys a day.

as for this twitter thing, i barely even follow 2 accounts, and i don't even get on it. i find it pointless and people are just nosy that they have to check up on what's going on with their idol like a damn stalker. its sick i think. its no wonder miley cyrus deleted hers, and fans were cryin' over that shit. now people follow Stevie Wonder's profile. yeah, like he can fuckin' see what your saying. damn fools.

It's not called a 'social networking' site for any old reason. It isn't just for "stalking" like everyone likes to believe. When the Yanks were going through the playoffs and on their way to winning the World Series, I gained many friends through Twitter who all share the same love for the same team as me. We would talk back and forth about the games, ask how each other was doing, etc. I even speak to a few of these people on AIM and a couple I'm friends with on Facebook, a lot live in the same area as me, and we've talked about meeting up at a Yankee game next season.

If you got your head out of your ass for two seconds and took off the ignorance-colored glasses, you would understand that Twitter is for much more than people make it out to be.

Not only is that the most boring reply i think i've ever read, it's also one of the most insulting.

Such a stupid post. But of course, it's easy to be critical of the things you so clearly don't understand.

For the record, if the tone in this reply is harsh then i'll accept the infraction. I have a blind uncle who is married to a blind woman and they have two kids with perfect vision and they live their lives beauitfully. I'm quite sure something like Twitter wouldn't be something that's too out of the question.

Your 'opinion' is way too broad and incorrect. You make it sound like everyone who uses Twitter is sitting at the computer/on their BlackBerry waiting for some celebrity to say "I just ate lunch. It was delicious" and that's wrong. While I'm sure there are some people that do that, it's not the overall theme of the site. Think of this as me educating you on what Twitter is really about.
