That they fight so hard against piracy, and claim they lose billions of dollars from it off a faulty equation they use, and then make billions to replace it from the chumps that will go see that R rated movie vaguely about a girl trying to escape a serial killer with 10% running scene, 40% blood and gore, 25% topless women, and 15% actual coital sex.

Note: Results may vary. 20-30% coital sex recorded previously.

Man, I'd buy a pirated movie out of spite for those scumbags at Hollywood.
Agreed. Those "You wouldn't" commercials at the start of mvoies make me laugh so hard. Way to treat it like a murder.

I just love the themes it shows and that the movie Aliens portrays in that particular scene.

Ripley is a tough chick. She's not gonna let anyone stand between her and what she wants to do. And she's not gonna let anything hurt her loved ones either. She has a soft side to her character. She is a mother but her children died while she was floating adrift in space. So when she finds newt on the Alien planet she takes care of her likes she's her own daughter. She becomes a mother figure for her. Yet she is still an action hero. It's the perfect motive and theme for Ripley to go down into the Alien queens nest. Not to be a badass or for petty revenge. But to save her child. She's a mother at heart. And that is a very realistic portrayal of a women. She's not weak at all. She's very strong and caring, she's an action hero, but not the cliched type. I love how she's standing there with newt on her arms holding her like a mother would a child, and in her other arm she is shooting at Aliens. And she's not dressed like a slut either, she's just a regular looking women, wearing every day clothing. More characters should be like this. And I have a great respect for Ripley's character.

I love how James Camera portrays his characters. He's such a marvelous director.

Because women being topless in Friday the 13th films is totally comparable to Matt being shirtless in a romantic comedy chick flick?

Yeah, umm... yeah a woman's chest contain private parts whereas males chests do not.

Unless the males walk around with there pen0rs hanging out in all the new chick flicks. I don't think it's comparable. I don't think most chick flicks even contain nudity.

It's cause those stupid hollywood producers are lazy. And instead of putting time, money and effort into writing a good plot. They say, "Hay lets just put naked girls in it. Everyone likes Naked girls right?"

I'm not saying nudity is a bad thing in films. I just think nudity for the sake of nudity is not good. Especially not for the characters, it never gives them any depth. As most Hollywood directors seem to be only able to portray women as sexual objects which is disgusting. And no one feels a thing if those characters are killed off. If the nudity is justified however, then it's fine.

I think you're taking it a little too subjectively literal. It's not a comparison of showing "private parts" of a woman to the chest of a male. It's comparison of what men and women find attractive. "Most men" find a woman's breasts attractive and sexually stirring. "Most women" also seem to find the kind of body Matthew McConaughey (in reference to CR29's post) very hot and attractive, and possibly sexually stirring as well. You made it sound like a man's penis is the only visually appealing attraction to a woman and/or the attraction of the upper body of a man is incomparable because it's not a "private part". That isn't so.

Both basically are eye candy for those that it pleases visually and/or sexually without going "too far" (hence most of the movies not showing penises or vaginas). These are, usually, rated R movies (Horror esp.) and when showing sex scenes without going hardcore, some breasts are likely to be expected (whether the tastefulness of the sex scene included in the movie is another story). Even PG-13 movies will sometimes have bare breasts. So yes, horror movies with the "tasteless" sex scenes will focus on hot breasted naked women. Makes sense cause horror movies are usually catered more towards males. In chick films, catered more towards women, it's not unexpected women aren't as interested to see other female breasts (and hence less of it) and you'll find a lot of times the guys are usually hot, well bodied men to cater to their attraction. Action movies seem to blend the two more often. Just my observations and opinions.

Ripley is a great character, and Aliens is a great film and one of my top favorites. Very good points in that regards.

I hate how so many movies start with main character is asked to do a mission that only he or she can do and they don't want to do and then finally they agree to it. It just feels like same thing over and over again. I wish they writers would just can some better ideas.

And I hate how I can't. Skip. Through. Them.

I will one day invent a way to download cars off the internet. Mark my words.

Maybe we'll throw in random women's handbags too with valuable goodies like credit cards and IDs. Some cash won't hurt either.

You know what, screw it. I'll invent a way to download FOOD off the internet. World hunger just got owned.

Independent films for the win here, people. If I ever become an indie film maker, I'll put a special tag at the end reserved for my handle on this site so you'll recognize it and say "Hey! I posted messages on a forum with that kid a long time ago (if you remember me, that is)!"

And hopefully my movies will be worth watching.

Heh, I can imagine Darkmoon now, pointing at the screen with a shaky finger and mumbling something about a 14 year old with an awesome forum handle.

Now, I know you're not THAT old, and even in several years past, you're barely going to be entering your 30s.

But let's pretend for a moment to catch the full effect and image of that.

Worth a laugh. Kudos to you, DM. And all the other staff while I'm at it.

And I understand why you would.

To be honest, I thought you were much older then your actual age until I had to go to your profile just to confirm it.

In the meantime, I am progressing in terms of downloadable cars.

Expect them to be released on torrent sites everywhere near the end of the century, if I live that long, in which I'll pass on my research to my future apprentice.

It's about time they released that going to cinema just doesn't cut it anymore why not offer a service where you can stop, pause and replay a flash embedded movie player off one of the cinema's websites so you can rent and watch it on the internet for up to a week, i'm sure people would rather pay for a digital stream .ASX then waiting hours for a shitty cam job to download off a torrent with the right code they can check for capture programs running so can't steal it too.
They're already talking about embedding flash into TV's so why is the film industry lagging so far behind it's worse than the pre I-Tunes napster era.
If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I do point at the screen and mumble about peoples screen names. 'In my day people had origional screen names, like SupaAwesomeD00d and Cereal Killa, and now we have people called RoflKopter15? What is the interweb comming to? I remember when you could have a civil conversation and it would be three, four pages before a troll messed it up.'

Etc. And my hand shakes because my left should is messed up. Just because I'm only 25 in chronological age doesn't mean I'm not in my early thousands in terms of cynacism and hate. I can't decided if my kids or the trolls will be responsible for my first grey hairs.

Horror movies these days. Jason, Halloween..ugh. I mean, I never really liked them back in the day either, but as I got older they just haven't aged well. Now we have remakes going on. Oh, watch some stupid teenagers get killed for 90 minutes, yes, thats entertaining. I'm finding it much harder to find movies with an actual plot these days. I want story, damnit!

The last good horror movie I watched was The Descent. Excellent flick, with some well done horror.

I feel BAD for liking some of those '90 minutes of teens dying' horror movies. >< I at least know they're crap...I like em so much cause I can laugh at them. =D

I'm not scared that easy by horror movies anymore, so I can't say if any were good based on scares...The Gravedancers, to me, had a pretty original plot, and not a lot of campy gore. Trailer Park of Terror is a typical teen-kill fest, but it's purposely campy. It's a guilty pleasure, plus is has a good premise to boot.

I'm like that with action movies. Commando is one of my favorite films, just because of how ridiculous the whole situation is.

The horror genre has Evil Dead as camp/parody but still good...Do action movies have any ones like that, sort of mocking the whole genre while still being good? Is Commando that way?

Oh god yes. Commando is so over the top. It definitely doesn't take itself seriously. I mean, look who the main villain is. An overweight, middle-aged man wearing a chain mail vest.
