  • Celebrity Deaths of 2009.

Is it just me or is 2009 the year of death for Celebs? I can't remember everyone so make sure to post the rest in here so I can put them on the list. Discuss their deaths here, and the oddness of it all happening in one year.

    1. Michael Jackson- King of pop was an influence to musicians and people all around the world with his music.
    2. Ferra Faucet- Actress, most known for being in the TV show "Charlie's Angels"
    3. John Hughs- Director of many 80's cult classics including "Breakfast club" and "Sixteen Candles"
    4. Billy Mays- Most known for his cheesy/awesome lines advertising "Oxy Clean."
    5. Les Paul- Maker of the well known guitar.
    6. DJ AM- Well known DJ for celebrities, he's done work with many bands.
    7. Ted Kennedy- Brother of John F Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy, he was a senator for the democratic party. He was in office from the early 60s to his death.
    8. Ed McMahon- Announcer of "The tonight show". He's most known for saying "Heeeres Johnny!" When announcing Johnny Carson.
    9. Natasha Richardson- Actress most known for being in "Parent Trap"
    10. Bea Arthur- Actress, best known for being in the TV series "The golden girls"
    11. David Carradine- Actor, I liked him most in "Kill Bill". He was a pretty cool guy.
    12. Steve McNair- McNair was a Pro-Bowl quarterback who lead the Tennessee Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV, a loss to the St. Louis Rams.
    13. Lux Interior- Founder and lead singer of the punk band The Cramps.

This. There's already a MJ thread, and no one else is exactly that interesting to keep talking about. Most of these people died several months ago.

Well, the year isn't over yet. I just decided to make this since today DJ AM died and no one made a thread about it. We can just post in here if we have something to say about them instead of making separate threads for them all.

Oops I accidently double posted.... Didn't mean to. Sorry.

Update: Just because someone famous dies doesnt mean everyone here cares or needs to discuss it. I didnt even know who DJ AM was until I googled him.

Well, thats your opinion. If you don't like the thread then don't post in it.

It's probably no more celebrities than any other year, you're just more aware of it because of a few are more high profile than other years.

Regardless, it's still a morbid topic, and "if you don't like it don't post" doesn't cover it haha

Did I ever say that? No. I dont exactly see you making any effort to make any discussions about the people that died. You made a post to say "Oh DJ AM died" but that's it. Big fucking whoop.

Why dont we talk about the importance of the Kennedy family and their influence on American politics? Or how, gasp, MJ overdosed and now its homocide. If you want to make a thread, put some effort into helping the discussion move along rather than just a list of names of dead people from a few days to a few months ago. Or you know...for a new death, at least give some details.

I personally have heard of DJ AM, quite popular.
I didn't even know until she told me, I'm shocked.

I think this thread seems to be useful instead of clogging up the sub-forum with multiple threads about people who have passed. Seems more logically, sure there already is a Michael Jackson thread but I wouldn't want to have to scroll through a ton of threads because so many celebrities and/or "idols" or even "heroes" to some have passed away this year.

Sure, people die however people still did look up to them and it and it is by far, much easier to discuss it all in a singular thread than multiple ones as at the rate 2009 is going - there would be a full sub-forum of such threads.

Now as for this, the point being is that the discussion of it is what this thread is intended for.

Yes exactly, and this is why I created this thread. So there won't be any extra ones. If I keep getting negative comments from people on here I'm just going to leave. I don't have to deal with people blatantly lashing out at me for no reason. Leave your negative comments to yourself.

People who don't like anything about a topic should just not post and leave, its simple as that so no arguments will occur.

That makes sense, and honestly put hearing DJ AM got me into learning about scratching and everything. He was absolutely amazing.

I haven't really kept up with the complete list of everyone who has passed this year, so I'm glad someone is as I'm completely stunned looking over your list.

Did you even read my post? I said details would help a discussion. No one is lashing out at you. If you want to play the part of a drama queen then I'm sure many people will call your bluff. Are you even going to participate in discussing the recent death of DJ Am, or are you just going to complain about what you think is people attacking you?
