Glad to see the anime thread is still around
I just wanted to know two things, i'm looking into getting two animes, which this month have been released as complete box sets, which I like to collect, as i'm not a fan of getting volumes.
The first anime is: Cowboy Bebop, I know it's an old school anime and heard from a few friends that it's funny and worth watching, but I wanted to get views from hardcore anime fans and not just viewers that watch anime on sky tv channels, not that its a bad thing, just that I wish to hear what people who watch tons of anime on the internet or the ones who buy a boxset each month etc.
The second anime is: Death Note, When going to anime conventions, loads of people are carrying the Death Note book and many females dress up in Death Note cosplay, not many males for some reason :S. I was wondering if this was worth buying also, as the story seems interesting but I wanted to know if this was just a hype over nothing.
Now onto my fav anime
I first got into Dragonball Z (didn't we all) and since then went onto to explore other animes, if I was to narrow down my list to animes I love it would be:
Dragonball Z/GT, Tenchi, Trigun, Naruto, Excel Saga, Tenjho Tenge and a few more.

So sad to see this thread dead - a couple of years ago this would be thriving.
One last necro post? See what happens. Just about to start watching the DMC complete series - as a lover of the games, can I expect quality?http://www.projectumbrella.net The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

I remember this thread. I could see my post from 3 months ago! lol
Just finished re-watching Elfen Lied. I couldn't help but cry, this show was so good. Way different from the manga, but still so good.
Also finished re-watching Witchblade. Got a little sad at the end of the show. I'm glad that they are going to tie the anime, manga, and light novel into the American comic universe, so they don't seem so detatched (so said from the current comic writer Ron Marz).
I tried to watch Loveless, but, even for a yaoi, it was just so damn... odd. Maybe I'll have to try again.
I still have the urge to re-watch Junjou Romantica... must... stop...
And finally, I saw (once again, ) Blood: The Last Vampire OVA. Saw it right before the movie adaption, and it was pretty good. The movie adaption was okay, just sooo much different than the OVA. I might as well start to watch Blood+, to see how it went with Blood: TLV's storyline in an alternate reality. Hmmm...

All of my favorites have been mentioned, but for a good Black comedy then I do recommend Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler). Fantastic manga, show, drama CDs and musicals. It can get a little nuts with the range of whacky and yet adorable characters to a little bit twisted as it goes along.
Tyrant, the DMC anime isn't that bad - I've got the DVDs for it and in my opinion, it seems to be alright. They could have done worse.
I'm getting ready to get into Ghost Hunt as well as Bloody Monday animes, as I follow the novel for Ghost Hunt, as well as the manga for it and Bloody Monday. I'm hoping they don't kill them too much.

Ive had some time away recently as i cant seem to find any more shows that interest me ive seen most of the popular ones. Perhaps i should start watching subbed shows rather than just dubs, it would definately widen my variety of shows. I do prefer dubs but i gues i could put up with subs for a time.

For those of you who love Cowboy Bebop, I strongly recommend you check out the original run of Lupin III, seeing as Bebop is said to have been pitched as sort of a 'Lupin in space'. The similarities are plainly there (in spades), and Shinichirō Watanabe has made sure to make note of it's influence.
That, and it's just fucking fantastic (though all of the dubbed versions have been horseshit)!

I am really enjoying Welcome to the N.H.K.
REALLY enjoying it. Even though I'm not old enough to even be able to be in Satou's position exactly, I can somewhat relate to him being hikikomori. I wonder how that girl will change him, if at all.
I've already felt some sadness, and laughed some at the rather dark humor in the show.
Easily my favorite anime at the moment.
