If you track it down; Make sure to get the double disc special edition that has the Black & White version. You wanna see it in black & white.

I'll be waiting for my Dark Tower series/film when it comes from Carlton and Daemon. Mist is a good film but my favourite out there is IT for adaption. Shining wasn't bad if you didn't mind how it was compared to the novel.

        Anyone here watched Kingdom Hospital?

IT and The Mist are some of my favorites, but Misery gets me every time. It's just so damn haunting.

i really don't care for his books or the film adaptations.

there's only like a handful i watched and barely remember: The Shining (which is like the most fuckin' overrated film adaptation by him), The It (which is not even scary at all, and people say it was based on real events - ahem, bullshit), Stand By Me (which is actually different for once than his generic shit), and The Green Mile (also different from his generic shit.)

Christine, Mist and The Stand. Langoliers needs to be remaked.

edit- I have never read any of he's books.

The Shining was not overrated when it came out, as it actually got a few razzie nominations (perhaps they won a couple). Plus you'd be surprised about how many people are on your side about that. It's a split camp, either its effect worked on the person or it didn't. Let me just say it makes such an impression on me that I don't even like to watch it alone or at all really (special occasions), and that's a good thing. It's that scary. Perspectives.

...Who says that about It? How the Christ could it be based on real events?

I don't care for any of the movies based on the books of his I've read. They never capture the true spirit of his works.

I used to be a big fan of his back in middle school and early high school when I read the Dark Tower series, The Stand, It, Misery, etc. I probably liked The Stand, It, and Gerald's Game the best.

Whoever told you "It" was based on true events was pullin' your third leg.

IT, Carrie, The Green Mile, The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption, and Pet Semetary. I haven't seen the Tommy Knockers... Thought the book looked super long in paper back.
