I can honestly say I know nothing about "Twilight" other than my teen-aged cousin wastes an insane amount of money on the propaganda...books, shirts, etc.

But this, however, is awesome:
LOL that made me laugh. Just a little clarification, it's advertising (commercial purposes) not propaganda (political purposes)... Advertiser mode off

Sickens? Did you have a part in the movie or something?
Erm, no? I am passionate about the movies i love. Would you not feel a sense of disgust if your favourite Resident Evil game were to be displaced in some way by the likes of a new Barbie game or something?
The Dark Knight is rightly held in high regard for so many reasons, it's direction, it's plot, the performances, not least that of Heath.
Where will Twilight be in 10 years time? Completely forgotten i dare say, it's not even comparable to the incredible achievement Chris Nolan achieved with The Dark Knight. The Twilight Saga is little more than the flavour of the week and nothing more.
A win for The Dark Knight is a win for good taste, that's all.
I am very vocal about my disdain for Twilight. Not because it's a poor piece of writting with bad pacing, poorly thought out character motivation and behaviour, a poor representation of romance...I read a lot of books. I've read worse than Twilight. OH JOHN RINGO NO! Difference was, they weren't supposed to be aimed at kids.
That's right. I take the 'Won't somebody please think of the children?' stance. Probably 'cos I'm a daddy with two little girls and I have to wonder what crap they'll be reading when they hit tweendom. And seeing this shit? Do not want. Hmm. I think I'm having a day or writting in bad memes...
As I understand the books, it's pretty much a treaty on how to have a terrible and abusive relationship. Edward's commands - thou shalt have no friends, thou shalt not talk ton thy father, thou shalt do as I say. Because I'm a vampire and no one may ever know. And Bella's response is that this is awesome and they shall be forever happy. Doing what Edward commands...
Well, think of it this way, DM. If they want to learn how to be a concubine sex slave walking the Vegas strip when they grow up, you know what book to give them.
I'm pretty sure, by any standard of fatherhood, if you child ends up peddling there ass on the street you've failed as a dad. Besides, who would sleep with a hooker who wanted to cover you in glitter?
I don't know about this shit enough to hate on it, but the fact that it makes tween girls scream at the top of their lungs is what pisses me off. Maybe it's a good movie, I dunno. Maybe I'll see it one day, possibly. We'll see.
Although, I will say one thing...I really don't like Kristen Stewart as an actress.
I agree, a large part of the fanbase are so vocally defensive of the Twilight Saga that it can get a little bit scary. If you have the stomach, watch this video. It's a Twilight fan who seems more than a little agitated about Stephen King's remarks on Stephenie Meyer's writing ability (He wasn't particularly pleasant). It's fair enough for both parties to be vocal, they are allowed their opinions after all, HOWEVER - The girl in this video spits a bunch of inaccuracies that are both funny and tragic. Supposedly, she "Can't remember the last time a movie was made about one of Stephen King's novels", a statement so hilariously absurd that you can only assume that she is joking.
She also claims that Stephen King is just "Jealous that he isn't getting of the limelight while Twilight most definitely is".
My two cents on the comments made by Stephen King towards Stephenie Meyer.Link to the article quoted: http://www.hollywood.com/news/Stephen_King_Gives_Twilig...
