The new writer also wrote "Darkness Falls" and "The Rundown". Oh crap. Zodiac wasn't too bad...

Guess everything is getting a reboot these days, seems when they hit 3 the movies just go to shit. The Wolverine Origin had to be the worst and made me sick to my stomach. Ironman 2 looks promising.

^ Yep, I can't believe they're making another Wolverine movie.

Yes and apparently Wolverine will be visiting Japan in his next adventure.

According to Entertaintment Weekly the reboot was planed from the start.

According to studio insiders, Sony was working on both Raimi's Spider-Man 4 and the new origin story from James Vanderbilt, who wrote Zodiac. The original plan was to keep the Spider-Man gang together for one last film in 2011 before rebooting the series in 2012. When it became clear that Raimi would not be able to make the summer 2011 release date planned for Spider-Man 4, the studio opted to scrap Spider-Man 4 altogether, and focus solely on the series reboot.

If you go on Yahoo (UK)... you will see that Toby won't be returning. It will be a reboot that focuses on the college days of P. Parker instead.

What's the point of rebooting Spider-man anyway?

I can understand the idea of rebooting RE movies, because after Afterlife there really is no pleace the storyline could go (the entire planet is already infected, so unless you move into space, you're just doomed), but with Spider-man you can do whatever you want: new movie, new villains, awesome action scenes, some love/drama between Peter and MJ and that's it.

And I really hope we won't be forced to go through this "oh no, I'm responsible for uncle Ben's death!" storyline in new movies, but rather, just like Carnivol has said, they will jump right into the action.

Well, Sony's press release says they're gonna focus on Peter as a teenager. I see a lot of angst, acne and NRB's in our future.

15 Reasons Rebooting Spider-Man Is A Really Bad Idea

I agree with pretty much all of it.

It will probably introduce the whole origin plot again, although they could properly introduce Gwen Stacy into the movies *and then subsequently kill her off to further expand on Peters character*.

I heard rumors that Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Daniel Radcliffe to play spiderman.

This whole reboot idea is total bullshit.

                                That is all.
