I have a few times. But it requires people who can act like adults and disagree with each other without getting angry. I have definite doubts we'll manage it here, but we can try.
We'll be keeping an eye on the thread, if you want to discuss the religion, feel free, but arguments about it are pointless for one reason or another. You can discuss what they are, what they believe it, compare, contrast, but watch the ground you tread, and read what you type many times.
This is good advice! Kudos to you and the rest of the staff!
A nice debate without argument sounds nice. I personally don't mind any religion as long as it isn't forced on myself. I think its important for everyone to explore different spiritual avenues and then choose what is best for themselves as an individual.
So, does anyone here believe in The Flying Spaghetti Monster? I'm serious.
No, I don't. But it is an interesting concept...I don't know what made Spaghetti the pasta of choice or what made it divine, but its something to casually contemplate for the fun of it.

I ask because because I see people make fun of it the time, all while they believe in an invisible man in the sky.(Keep in mind I also believe in God, I'm not insulting.)
I take no insult, and yes I agree. I don't think any belief system should be ridiculed, as all of them contain aspects that can be considered 'unbelievable'. I haven't heard anything about Pastafarianism in a long time though.
I have a copy of the gospel of the flying spaghetti monster.
I'd go so far as to say that no one genuinely believes it to be true, but people say they do to undermine other religions.
It was initially designed to highlight problems with science education, and got a bit out of hand.

Yeah I figured as much, that it isn't taken seriously that is. But you never know, somebody may really think that there is a divine being made of spaghetti.
Don't know about taste....its old spaghetti that hasn't been refridgerated. Most likely you'd die of food poisoning it you tried to eat it, or be choked by old noodles for your insolence!
