Anyway did anybody watch the NBA all-star game this weekend, the Eastern all-stars routes the western all-stars 141-139, Nate Robinson at 5ft.9 becomes the first NBA dunking champion to win 3 slam dunk titles as well as Paul Pierce winning the 3pt challenge and dethroning the champ Daequan Cook. Kevin Durant Successfully defends his H-O-R-S-E title. Also on that event Steve Nash becomes a Skills Challenge champ to dethrone Deron Williams.

Deadline of Trade will be Feb.18 this Thursday. So far Mavericks have made a huge step forward and made a seven-player trade. The Mavericks traded former all-star Swingman Josh Howard, Quintin Ross, James Singleton, and Drew Gooden for former All-Star Forward Caron Butler, Defensive Stalwart Brendan Haywood and Guard DeShawn Stevenson.

Also the blazers needed some depth at center after loosing Greg Oden from a season ending injury and back up center Joel Przybilla. Veteran Forward Juwan Howard was starting at Center though they needed a real center to fill in the defensive end and traded Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw with cash considerations for former defensive player of the year Marcus Camby.

Damn you beat me to it.
Is this also a discussion of sports you play? I ran cross country my entire high school career.
Did anyone watch the super bowl? I laughed, because my sister lost her bet. She actually bet the Colts would win. rofl

So all sport talks HAS to go in here now? Which mod/admin made that decision? Just try stopping people from wanting to make threads about the Olympics, World Cup etc in future. Pacman/Mayweather WOULD be the biggest boxing fight in years, you're saying it should've been weighed down in a thread like this? Nuh uh.

If a thread is useless then no one will reply and it'll float to the bottom of the forum. It wouldn't be harming anyone.

Yup and with minor changes to the roster, return of the Zen Master and a healthy Bynum I smell a Threepeat now remember Kobe played through the entire playoffs with many injuries yet still played at a high level.

LA LAkers 2010-2011 Champ for the THreepeat

                  LOL high level.

Kobe has been struggling in the last 2 games, for one his shooting percentage at game 7 had decreased is because of tony allen guarding him well and kobe in the 4th quarter went 5-20 from the field. As well as kobe's right index finger still being injured for the last 2 seasons, kobe needs surgery before the next season comes or it will aggrivate his gameplay. Ron Artest was the key of game 7 when kobe struggled in double teams and artest steps up as the scorer.

And a 3 peat. will be hard to predict especially since one of the biggest free agency talents in league history will happen in july 1. We'll see which teams will acquire powerful players. Oh and I should collect my bet money at co-workers since lakers won haha.

In game 7 Kobe was beat. You could tell he was tired. Not shooting the ball well. Boston sent 3 guys at him every time. He tried to do too much by himself.

Thing is, despite Kobe's best efforts Lakers would've lost the game if not for Gasol, Fisher and especially Vujacic making those points happen.

Lakers are a team and that came out yesterday. All of them played with passion, energy and determination.

And ppl giving Magic Johnson crap for praising the Celtics are wack. Boston had an incredible team. Beating a formidable team makes winning this all the more sweet.

Don't laugh at High Level Lightning he was sensational throughout the entire playoffs one bad game shouldn't attest for his overall performance, and yea this year's FA makes things tricky but Lakers are already a well established team with great chemistry they know how to play they're game

Your facts are just fanboyism. I like kobe as much as you do but recognize the truth and fact he hasn't been as good as he should in game 6 and 7. No Pau Gasol/Ron Artest, no championships. Yes Vujacic sealed the deal giving lakers the lead in hitting 2 free throws and Artest reviving the lakers in the 1st half leading them in scoring at that part. Let's also give credit to fisher with his clutch performance and burying 3's at a crucial time.

FYI kobe struggled bad at game 7 going 6-24 from the field but at least grabbed 15 rebounds. Odom must be given credit for his hard play mid-way in the game.

                        Game 7 Results

Not actually beat but frustrated by the fact Tony Allen did a good job becoming a Kobe stopper much like ruben patterson in the past. He blocked some shots of kobe and forcing double teams on him even during pick and roll situation. He limited kobe and made him struggle in the field thus his laker game is 6-24 from the field and was 0-6 from three point line.

Lightning do you have like some sort of selective thought process I said ENTIRE playoffs not just the NBA Finals, Kobe was sensational throughout these and for you to judge Kobe by 2 games is truly absurd

I am aware of kobe's major contributions but the fact you left out Artests sudden scoring and defense as well as gasol being the other scorer behind kobe(which is another problem the opposing team has to deal with) and leading the team in rebound, Odom coming off the bench giving 10's and 10's(points and rebound respectively) as well as fishers tenacious defense on rondo as well as his clutch 3's giving lakers the lead or furthering the lead.

Yes kobe was sensational and yes I love the guy and he is my current favorite basketball player(jordan being the best), though in the end it was gasol, fisher, artest, and odom bringing the lakers to life whilst kobe struggled. Your facts are of that of fanboyism and only giving no credit to the laker teammates besides kobe. Though at truth and fact I explained the truth about who made them champions in the end and I don't judge solely on fanboyism. I even hate the fact that tony allen guarded kobe well but face that as the truth.

Pikminister already revealed the truth. As good as kobe is and being the best player right now(jordan being the all time greatest and all time best), he couldn't take the load by himself even when he went on being kobe. The fact of the matter is in game 7 Artest was reviving and kept them catching up in the 1st half leading them in scoring at 1st half while kobe struggled in the finals. Gasol would struggle but would put up rebounds and his defensive performance to make it up on garnett. Artest and Gasol made both Ray Allen and KG struggle in the field much like kobe did limiting them whilst paul pierce was taking the load. Gasol even made rasheed foul out and placed KG in foul trouble situation. Don't forget fisher giving a good defense on rondo.
