It's a shame they sped that sequence up, in the "Directors Cut" of the movie it goes up to her slowly so you see all the gory detail.

Yeah I remember that, first we see the body from a distance and then the camera zooms in.

EDIT: Shooting for 'Scream IV' will begin in May and Craven will direct. Scream IV will be the beginning of a new trilogy. A script has been written and Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are set to return.

What Directors Cut and where do you get it and is it Scream 1 2 or 3?

"You still haven't told me your name."

"Why do you want to know my name?"

"Because I want to know who I'm looking at."

            Good stuff.

Exactly. That's a great suspense cue, almost at the same time implicitly and explicitly establishing danger. The phone segment obviously isn't the newest idea for a horror film (Black Sabbath, Black Christmas, When A Stranger Calls), but it's an effective one, and most likely a nod in keeping with Scream's references anyway.

The first Scream has aged well, even though a lot have blamed it for starting the PG-13 TV actors/actresses horror film trend. It was an honest effort by Wes Craven and it stood out among other stuff he tried to do later on in his career. The second and third ones were cash-ins that otherwise had some good ideas. I'm neither here nor there about a fourth one.

"Listen. I am two seconds away from calling the police."

"They'd never make it in time. We're out in the middle of nowhere."

                "What do you want?"

"To see what your insides look like."

Scream definitely has the best opening for a horror film. If only that much effort was put into the sequels.

My name comes from the original Scream movie. I used it as an AOL email address and it just stuck with me. There's a lot of Screams out there but I'm the original and best

Yuck. Why bring those 3 back? It's bad enough to suspend belief that the trio would have already went through the previous trilogy (relatively) unscathed, but the over-arcing storyline for the previous films got worse as they progressed. Plus, you pretty much know Sidney, Gail, and Doofus will triumph in the end and avoid death. There's no real dread concerning their lives.

Bring in some other paper-thin heroes and heroines.

All that matters is the killer, and of course a witty, self-referential plot. (One of my favorite things about the Scream films is that the killer is always somewhat of a klutz, and not a perfect killing machine.)

Personally I think that they will be killed off in the first scene in order to introduce the new characters since this is a new trilogy, a new era.

^I suppose, but I can't see them bringing back all 3 and then killing them all off in the opener.

If Craven is actually going for a "new trilogy and a new era," then it's best to go ahead and distance the new story from the old one (IMO).

I don't think Kevin(writer) would just kill them off at the beginning of the film, especially not Sidney. If Sceam IV was to kill her off, I think it would be done more respectfully, such as her dying heroically at the end (like Ripley in Alien 3).

Hmm I think the first time I saw Scream 2 I was 5 maybe? Can't remember much cept David Arquette was a psycho and Drew Barrymore was in the beginning making pop corn on the oven in some weird way... I never knew you could make pop corn on a stove >.<
