I take it that's a British thing? I'll have to check it out.

          • Agreed, he was a legend and a true gentlemen, a rarity in modern football. Such a sad loss.

He was only on Football Focus yesterday and his colleagues at the BBC were saying how happy and relaxed he was and optimistic about his future with Wales.
            Unbelievable.

            • Late to post this and I don't know if anyone knew this but John Neville, best known for The Adventures of Baron Munchausan and his role on the X-Files as The Well-Manicured Man, passed away on November 19, 2011 (Alzheimer's disease). Rest in peace.

We predict the future. And the best way to predict it, is to invent it.

Such heartbreaking news, really is. Grew up watching Speed's career progress, so it came as one hell of a shock today.

Rumours that a tabloid was due to publish a story about his private life as well, such a waste.

Have they announced anywhere as to why he hanged himself? I searched a bit earlier, but it always seems that in cases of suicide the media doesn't always elaborate as to why (Though I realize sometimes there was no reason as to why). I just always find suicide of otherwise happy people fascinating; what motivates them to get to this point of desperation.

                          • I don't think the reason has come out yet or if its been announced he left a note or not.. very odd, I agree. If those rumors are true, I could definitely see that tabloid keeping extremely quiet about it..

                              • He always played a great villain! I remember him more for his roll in "The Outlaw Josey Wales" though. Sad to hear that he has died...
