Yeah, I would kill someone in front of their mom then kill THEM in front of THEIR mom for a Rickenbacker bass.

I am completely in love with this flick. I haven't left a movie that happy since "Serenity" in '05! I wanted to immediately turn around and go see it again. I think it was 100% made for me.
You and me are like brothers.

Like, I've never read anything from Bryan Lee O'Malley but I can surly confirm that he is already my God now.

I was having a nergasim outside the theater....my body and mind survived and literally exhausted from SO. MUCH. EPIC. AWESOME! ...it's good to be a gamer (or perhaps gamer/nerd/geek)...also feels good to be alive to the fullest.

Thank you everyone who was ever involved in this franchise, you people are the greatest.

I'd do that for a Rickenbacker 12-string. One of those Roger McGuinn 12-strings *thinks about the ringing tones and drools all over the thread*.

That said, the reaction to this makes me happy. Dying to see this now.

Amen to that! I love the jangly sound on all those old Byrds records. Hell of a band!

On topic; I went to see the movie again today. This time, I brought along a friend who was badmouthing it before seeing it and he loved it (as I told him he would). We then came home and played the game for hours...

According to Yahoo, the movie bombed:

"A third newcomer, the comic-book adaptation "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," bombed at No. 5 with $10.5 million. It marks the second disappointment this month for General Electric Co-owned distributor Universal Pictures, following "Charlie St. Cloud."..."
The film has a lot of competition. That's what is going on... However, this reminds me of the fact that some analysts believe that gamers, comic book fans, otakus and geeks in general are to blamed for not supporting films that target them directly. Films that were hyped like crazy only to fall short from becoming uber-hits at the B.O. (i.e. The Watchmen, Grindhouse, Kick Ass, etc.).

I think these analysts got it wrong. Fans have supported these films. It's just that the support for these films is limited to the fans and is not really that big of a deal with other demographics.

It's like the Twilight flicks. They bring in a very particular crowd. Once the soccer moms/cougars and tweens/teens have had their sparkly vampire fix, the films drop off the top ten lists.

              Sorry for the Twilight comparison...

^ Bad analogy. Twilight films, focused on a group or not, seem to make a large amount more than you're going to get out of the core focus of this film. But Scott Pilgrim has had a fairly massive promotion campaign.

I wanted to go because of Edgar Wright.... I saw the film last night over here, I want to say it was awesome but it was only good. There are a lot of decent things about it, but it's defiantly Wright's weakest film and that's probably a lot to do with staying so true to the source material. That said, it's entertaining, and I'd still tell people to see it even if not at the cinemas.

I also think The Expendables will drop off quicker and that Scott will sit in the top 10 longer though once word spreads about it's content.

I saw it Monday with a friend of mine which was the first time I saw it and I was fucking so happy when I walked out of the movies. I couldn't have asked for more.

Saw it again yesterday (Tuesday) with 4 other friends and once again walked out happy. I'm gonna go see it again next Wednesday and I'm taking a friend who thinks it looks stupid. Hopefully when he see's the full movie he'll change his mind.

I'm planning on seeing this again this weekend. It is such an incredibly awesome movie! It has literally already become one of my top five favorite movies ever.

Saw it the other night, and I loved it! From start to finnish, it was just perfect and the game refrences and music was wonderful. 9.5 out of 10!!
