Watchmen is awesome. But do you remember when it came out it suddenly had all these "fans" appear out of nowhere, except really they were just a bunch of tweens who probably only saw the movie.

Though to its credit the movie wasn't bad.

I'm kinda with Karui on this one, except I wouldn't put it so eloquently. Saw it last week...it was a decent movie but I just didn't think it was anything special at all. I laughed once or twice and Michael Cera annoyed the shit out of me like he tends to do. Not even M-E Winstead could save this one for me. It was an okay movie but nowhere near what I was expecting.

I just think people are looking at/for different things when they see it...

The movie has a lot of insane visual substance and fantastic attention to detail. There are just these awesome and deliberate details in the background in almost every single shot and stuff. It's just the type of movie that rewards you for loving it.

^ Terrible shame, if only you'd been able to read the graphic novels before it became trendy you would actually enjoy it.

As I often do when given the choice, I'll see the movie then read the books. The movie will taste less like bitter disapointment that way.
